I think Andrew designs and builds the most comprehensive, beautiful and superbly made travel cabins (or tiny homes if you prefer) on the market. The intelligent design enhances the livability in such a compact space, ensuring that it never feels cramped. The high quality workmanship and good materials combine to create a solid, secure and comfortable home that will always be there for you, wherever you tow it! This really is a masterpiece of space management and ingenuity.

I mean RVs do this. If you look at Leisure Travel Vans, Pleasure Way Vans, and even Europe RV designs, this is pretty common. In fact there are Murphy Beds you can put in your home that combine an office desk, closet space, couch, dining area, and even some that have a TV that electronically raises up out of the Murphy bed footboard.

I admire his creativity and character. One thing though, the talk about hanging out inside this tiny house, he says "we." Would they really be sitting around the table while somebody is using the toilet? This is what always gets me. It would be fine for one person, or for a couple who got along and had everything worked out -- but hanging out?

ONLY!!! $16,000 ? People are getting too far away from the original intent of this type of living. You can build this yourself for less than half this price. Don't say you can't do it...you can. If you can put up a shelf , you can build a bookcase.. you can build a tool shed.... you can build a small residence for yourself. Those who will not use the brains and skills they have are no better off than those who have none.. They are by their own choice subject to the will and control of those who would be their masters. Your life. Your choice..

The cost of the unit is about $8000, the remaining $8000 is labor. It costs someone else time and money to build that. They eat the upfront cost and have to wait until it sells. People can build it for half the price but who would and who would do it to code? Those who build these tiny homes are performing a service and they expect to be paid for the service. Anyone can build one but how many people would rather buy one than build?

I bought an old 18ft trailor, gutted it, rebuilt the floor & walls, 2x4s, insulated it with sheet foam 3-4in, and I can heat it with a heat bulb. The more you insulate, the better. Sm $100 AC unit. Used PC fans to circulate the air off the ceiling, that's where your heat goes. Use 1 oscillating fan which keeps the whole thing same temp at both ends. Used as many windows as I could, passive solar. Been in it for over a decade. All my materials were scavanged from dumpsters at work and yes, they tossed away those 2x4s and foam. Recycled. Only things I bought brand new were the screws, nails and foam (for sealing inbetween the sheets). Used metal framing to make my hurricane straps and I put those on every 2x4 to strengthen it. Paid $400 for the trailor and maybe a couple hundred to build it total. IF you have a place where you can get stuff to recycle, or scrap lumber, etc. you can build this, even using the tiny house plans, for under $1,000. Just remember plenty of insulation and passive solar, it pays off. You can always make shade over those windows in summer. In winter you'll be glad you have windows. Sometimes I have to close the curtains cuz it gets too warm. Good luck building yours. It's great and I'm still loving mine. Oh, kept the trailor siding, just repainted it.

For $16,000, if you buy a container of 160 s.f., build a tiny house, you will get a house twice as big as the house shown here for the same money. Then you do not need to use the murphy bed to save space and you would have a full bath that you can get into it. The secret is the cheap container. it costs only $2,000 and you get most of the tiny ready to move in and bigger for the money. So why not?

Your concept on the tiny house is awesome, front door (natural light in), sky light, a\c great. If you read these comments, here's one(good comment). I'm fascinated with Murphy bed concept and a full sized one that is folded against the wall would be soooooo much better, not saying your idea is wrong but well at least expand your mind onto the idea, please. The Murphy bed I've got on my mind would be great and still have way more space (at least a bit more). Murphy beds have been a fixation of mine for a good long while now. FYI, Murphy beds have around a long time and save space tremendously, thanks. I would like to give my email address but that's not wise. Thanks again

You might get funding or donations to build more Tiny House Eco Communities by the new group called 'Resource Generation.' RG was interviewed in the October 2019 online magazine called 'Town and Country' on You Tube. Too increase your chances of getting funding, ask them to watch this video before Skyping with you. Skyping saves a lot of time and money compared to meeting in person. Maybe they could help you buy parking lots all over America, to turn into Tiny House Eco Communities. June 2020

I agree. I never remember being told that is healthy as Earthgal mentions. Yuck.

I don't understand why if maximizing space is the goal why anyone would build a tiny house with anything but a shed roof. Gable roofs waste half of the space available from the roof portion of the house. It must be the cute factor.

What is the weight of this trailer? I'm trying to get a general idea. I'm building a 7' wide by 10' long Tiny House... But my car can only pull up to 2,750 pounds...

that is very nice but tiny houses are useless in Florida because you're required to have 600 square feet living space so you're not allowed to put them anywhere

cute tiny house for one person, maybe a couple but kids? doubt it you would go bonkers after a while being on top of each other all the time the kids would have to be outside all day burning off their energy. if I had to downsize even more I would love a 350 square foot or 300 square foot trailor/house. that would be cool.

I saw on your video that you did missionary work, that is what we are looking at doing. We are missionaries to the homeless and drug-addicted in America and we are starting a tiny house Community where people can go in either a 6-month or 12-month program to get their life on track with God and everything else. We have got a donation of a camper but was told by my father that regular campers won't be able to hold a lot of weight, there's so many things we have not considered in any advice you can give us on building would be greatly appreciated

The same thing as a semi sleeper. One old boy extended his semi chassis to 112" total cost 7k. He bought a used extended sleeper box. Uses apu system.
