He auditioned twice and was passed over. Then got on Community. Sometimes things work out the way they do for a reason. In hindsight it seems right but it may have been a totally different outcome.

The reality is every season, every cast, has its ups and downs. I've watched a few of "classic" SNL that frankly don't work so well these days. And that's not a knock on the former cast members, just that even the greats had off days.
Bro him saying “dr Reginald Saunders” and the end fucking sends me.
The monologue that starts at the 1:00 minute mark might just be the most unpredictable screenplay I've ever seen in my life, he just kept talking and going in the wildest conceivable direction every single time 💀
I like how he can't even tell the difference between his girlfriend's voice and this woman's.

This skit is SO good, then I sought out the source material "Oran "Juice" Jones - The Rain", also SO good, my life is better for knowing it, and now this skit is God tier: streets, pink dress, credit cards, jewelry, Rambo, Trix are for kids. Ok, I worked with Donald once long before the fame (he was the sweetest guy ever btw. Went out of his way to cheer me up when my BFF got cancer.) when he is trying to be funny, he sticks his butt out. Watch for it. Seriously, its hilarious
