8 Tips For Spotify From An Actual Low-Tier Artist
I hope this video sees you well! I tried to include tips that many people do not like to talk about and especially from my POV because i hear a lot of big spotify creators with like thousands of streams say something but never someone with no streams. So I am here to deliever! Ive been at this number for a while. A tip I forgot include is to make connections with people and get features. Other than that I hope yall enjoyed!

You don't have to pitch to release radar. As long as do an editorial pitch at all with at least 7 days in advance to the release the song is automatically added to release radar.

@@omnisama have you released a song at all yet? I started typing a response but it is way too much to type. Look up : how to claim your Spotify for Artists account and then look up how to pitch your song to Spotify Editorials. I am sure there are tons of great videos explaining this whole process
This video is a gem! I just started releasing instrumentals in March with no social media and got 345 monthly listeners! These tips work and once you hit a playlist your streams take off. I haven't pitched to one yet, but if you keep posting someone will find you! Thanks for sharing these tips! Stay encouraged fam!🙏🏾

Btw guys you don’t have to pitch to release radar, you automatically get put on it when you pitch. Even if it’s a day before release. When you’re pitching to editorial playlists you aren’t actually pitching to individual playlists. You can give recommendations but it’s highly unlikely that it will help. The editors will find a place for you if you’re god enough and bring people to Spotify which is the harsh reality. I’ve never been accepted myself but hopefully I will one day. Btw this video is great and there’s no shade on my boy just thought I’d say that so no one had the wrong idea

Stories are always what carries the music, that's not changed in 80 years. Just releasing the music by itself is a sure fire way for it to remain unfound.
A lot of great tips Torusi. As an indie artist just starting out, I find all of these tips really helpful. I just subscribed and followed on Spotify✨

If it makes anyone feel better, I'm technically in the top 0.5% of Spotify artists and I've never been featured on an editorial playlist after 7 years of uploading so those aren't needed at all don't worry.

Thanks for the helpful video :) I just released my first song seagull symphony and for the next one, I'll try all your tips :) It's a tough journey to do all of this on our own and and keep producing, all while working a normal job. Also I just listened to your songs i don't feel well and moving on, man they are good!! needed to create a playlist to put them in right away :D

Well, I released music for the time last September and it's growing so slowly that I have the feeling I'll need 100 years to get a decent fanbase... Good luck to everyone!

It doesn’t take that long my mans but it sure does feel like it. Just keep posting and you’ll find those people in no time :)
I think the downside of not releasing right away, is if your content goes viral and your song isn’t out, you just missed out on tons of streams.
@Torusi
Ай бұрын
That’s one of the downsides but we kinda just have to live with it :/. I would mix in making content around an already published song and also make content around songs for the future. If that makes sense!
Nice to see another small artist sharing their journey.

Nah pitching is a lotery. Much better to pitch just to get release radar. That also means no need to pitch 4 weeks in advance. 110k streams monthly atm, been through that.

hi, i wanted to know how pre saves work and whether you need to have your song already released to even have their link in pre saves? for example, i'm trying to use routenote. how do i schedule so my timing would be right? also, how to pitch your song weeks in advance if they're not released yet? i'm very confused
@Torusi
Ай бұрын
Great question This was a problem that I had a while ago. So presaves generate from whenever the music distributer (I use distrokid) gets your track, cover art, and details and for my service it usually takes 10 minutes. So then you go to the track section of your distributor and it should give you an option for a “presave link.” Sometimes it’s not even called that, sometimes it could be just a simple webpage the music presave link is posted on from the distributor. I have never used routenote but sometimes the distributor has you pay extra to schedule ahead sadly. But even without this feature it takes Spotify about a day and a half to release your track giving you a little window to get a presave link. If you would like more of an explanation (I know it’s all so dang confusing) DM me on instagram or discord. Both in description. 💫⭐️

@@Torusi thank you for replying, i think i pretty much understood it so far. btw i have another question. to pitch your music on editorial playlists. do you have to first have the music released in advance and send them the link? if that's not the case and you have to pitch weeks before releasing it, how does that work? my guess is after your release get's approved/uploaded.. it ends up on the "Upcoming" section of spotify for artists so then you can pitch.. and maybe weeks later is your actual release date?
@Torusi
Ай бұрын
@@omnisama first comes with scheduling and usually I would recommend 2 weeks in advance. After that, about 2 days in to those weeks you will see your song in upcoming on your Spotify for artist profile. Then you can pitch it. And for them to review the pitch it takes about a week. Here you could pitch to the playlist you would like to feature in. Thank you for commenting cause this really inspired me to make things like info accessible in the discord. So that’s what I’m do!!! I hope I helped man!!
a big issue i seem to be facing right now is actually getting people to listen to my music, I do these things and all I hear is crickets, its pretty disheartning of course and I really don't know what to do, I know I should be posting on social media but I have a lot of anxiety, posting myself isn't really my thing, therefor is going to make it harder for me to even get past 10 plays fml

Hey my man, we’ve all been there. I got scared even posting this video you’re watching. And I am not gonna lie to you, there are gonna be people that are rude or people that try to knock you down. But my advice to that is don’t let that fool you. And there are some work around content ideas, there doesn’t always need to be a face to your product! As for the streaming, it takes time man. I sat at 10-12 listeners from 2023-early 2024 and it bugged me cause I didn’t think I was good enough. But one day your streams kick off and you start getting more plays and listeners overtime. It just takes a shii ton of practice and a whole lot of time. But I know you can put your heart to it!! Much love

This is not just from personal experience but from what I’ve heard from many others. I’ve done a lot of research regarding the topic and believe that i was well educated enough to put out a video. Pitching it. If you pitch it a week early that’s great but more time is way better. It’s all about time. Also, write a good paragraph for Spotify

Give your track a month out in distro. Start pumping your music and art three weeks before a release. Never release o. Friday ad majors do and it drowns lil guy out. Three to five reels a week five stories a day and carousel. Promote five weeks after and alway a meek gong back

Tbh it’s really hard. Since it seems like you have different audiences on different platforms and I am not different from this. There’s nothing you can really do other than promoting your Spotify on your TikTok. “Link in bio” or “songs out *give a date*” It all takes time, just the matter of if you’re gonna stick to it or not :)
