What I do to practice my english is : . I talk to myself while I am taking a shower . I listen to youtube Videos while I am cooking or cleaning my room . I record myself and then I look at the video and check what I said wrong and think of ways I could say express some ideas better . I am very introverted, so when I am at work, I force myself to speak to people and try to become friends with people that only speak english

Marina you are very nice person and you inspire me. I will bring my contribution to your video by telling my rules of learning a new language: 1 - the most important rule is find your own methods. everybody is different. some rules that are working fine to one person are not working for another. 2 - find the methods you like. if you don't enjoy one method, just forget about it, find another one that suits you. 3 - write the name of the objects on postit and glue them on these objects. 4 - switch the language of your phone and car to the language that you learn. 5 - listen to youtube video for learning a new language and write the words on papers. glue this paperwork with tape on your kitchen and repeat them every day. 6 - voice record your self when you read papers from nr5 and listen to your records when you travel by car, train etc 7 - exchange language with other people set a day and a time and follow it every week ask your exchange language partner to write text with the things that you do not understand during your talk and send you text and voice files. (of course do the same for the other one in return) 8 - watch movies, try to speak and repeat what you hear in the movie and record your self during the movie 9 - repeat and practice every day sometimes 30 minutes/day sometimes 5 minutes/day but do it every day, don't miss one day. - Me ? ..I did all that to learn russian.

Great advices! I always hear some English teaching youtube videos on commute with my earbuds. I've subscribed to over 100 youtubers(English speakers) to learn and enjoy various topics in any time. I try to read English news even though I need to learn about my country's stuff. That means I avoid reading articles written in Korean. It's such endless efforts that I have to keep on my routine to get acquainted with the total English. Thank you for reading my small daily habit and I wish all of you, English learners can reach the certain level that you want to get!🙌

Thank you for advice, I really loved them all! Some time ago I used to use few of them, especially the one in which you advise to read lyrics of a song while listening one. And I loved your pronunciation, the way you speak to your audience! I try to learn English on my own and sometimes I watch Russian KZread videos about learning languages, and now I just came across your channel, watched the video and realised that I understood a lot of words and what's the most important - I understood the meaning of what you were saying even though it was in English (I'm not used to watch a lot of English videos)! Feeling awesome!😅😃 I know my comment is very very simple and it has mistakes, but I was just trying to express my feelings and thoughts 😅😊

I watch almost every day at least 2 to 3 hours content (about 10 to 15 videos) in English about different topics. I try to surround myself with English as much as I can. Actually I don't like to consume content in my native language (Spanish) anymore and I try to avoid it as much as possible. The English language has become an integral part of my daily basis. Besides that I read a lot (blogs, news, books) and listen podcasts as well which is totally cool! And of course I sing out loud my favorite playlist at the end of the day 😉😎

I watched this video 2 weeks ago and now I rewatch it for this advice. "Watch real english videos vs Movies" Marina: "The only source for you to get real language is watching videos by real people cause when you are watching a movie, sometimes they use phrases that you wouldn't really use in normal life. It's all edited. It's all written by professional screenwriters but when it's a blogger talking just holding his camera and walking around. This is real language and this is what you're going to hear from native speakers."

Bangtan ARMY I'm doing it at gcse level, but I google "questions," into google and i try and answer in German, looking up words I don't know. I listen to slowly spoken German news - passive learning, it's good to hear it and it will just get in your head. Active learning is what I do at school but I write diary entries in German and use hinative (computer website) to correct it. Native speakers help with any question you have. I do quite a lot more but I hope that helped :)

A question for you: Don't you need to have enough vocabulary under your belt first in order to implement these steps? I'm studying a foreign language through DuoLingo and I don't feel remotely confident yet utilizing the language because I feel I'd have to memorize enough vocabulary words in order to start building on it.

I like to listen to podcasts/music in the foreign language I'm trying to learn because it makes me feel more "familiar" with the sounds of the words, but I know it's hard to understand things when you don't have enough vocabulary. If you are just getting started with the language, Beelinguapp is an app that uses text+audiobooks, so you can read and listen to the words, and it also has a dictionary, so you can build your vocabulary. When I was in a "bad relationship" with English (insecure, poor vocabulary, poor grammar skills) I started to watch videos about English in English, read the comments, translate the words, etc. Once I got a basic vocab, I started writing some silly things about me, answering some random questions, etc. At this point I took time to improve my grammar and spelling. Now I oftenly have "shower conversations" in English (it's kinda of embarrassing hahaha) and even though I don't speak like a native, I think I can communicate with other people and comprehend the basics. (This is my experience and I know everyone is different, I'm just sharing some tips that work for me) (Btw sorry if there's any grammar mistake)

Great tips! I listen to audiobook too! My method is to choose one of my most favourite audiobooks. Then listen to the same one again , again and again for many times even when I am going to the toilet or doing dishes ....... It helps me a lot to learn more about the tones and the details of the pronunciation .............

Hi Marina! I'm from Florida (originally Russia). I have a trick, for people who are looking for practice in non English speaking country's. We are know, the best way to learn English it's practice with people. Ok. I call support of any company's (a big company's has a better support) and talked about their products. Sometimes chat. And it's working! From anywhere with native speakers and it's FREE! P.S. Are you using multicooker or slow cooker, by the way?

You are really amazing Marina, from almost one month i watching your videos more then 10times per day,i understand almost everything because u explain all perfectly. Im bulgarian and the most of the things u explained for the way the people react in Russia is the same like in Bulgaria- so strong language frases looks like orders....from 16years I live in Italy and actually realized how different they speak after some years spent there....all the people was thinking im always angry with them because of my hard voice tone.... every time when i get back to Sofia i realized how different is the sound of my native language in my ears. I understand completely the italians when they told me how rude i seems in my comunication...by the way every morning i start my day with your videos and u make my day jonesing positive. I really apresciate your work and espescially the videos u create alone i like them so much .Wish u all the best for u and all your family .Good luck in everything and thank u again for this possibility to learn from your experience .
