Fun to watch your creative process of very controlled disicions and then choosing mediums and qualities of materials and techniques that open into surprises - ending with a series of small abstracts radiating the beauty of the unknown and a kind of dreamscapes 🎶💜🎵🦄

I’m very much enjoying this series, and looking forward to seeing how it evolves. I read somewhere that by layering dramatic colors and marks beneath your finished layers, the finished pieces will have “history.” I wish I could remember who to credit with that description, but it helped me understand why the initial layers are so important. Your videos are illustrating that very idea, as well. Thank you for sharing your process!

Thanks, Kate! Yes, building layers is such a great way to create depth. Also makes the process really interesting because the painting constantly keeps changing and evolving.

Thank you! The panels I'm using are 12x12" panels from Jacksons: www.jacksonsart.com/jackson-s-5mm-wooden-painting-panels-pack-of-5?___store=jacksonsart_en&acc=2d00f43f07911355d4151f13925ff292 Alternatively you could use plywood panels. I'd recommend 5mm or thicker.

Hi Deborah! Thanks so much for subscribing and welcome! I am working on wood panel. The ones I use are from Jackson's here in the UK: www.jacksonsart.com/jackson-s-5mm-wooden-painting-panels-pack-of-5?___store=jacksonsart_en&acc=2d00f43f07911355d4151f13925ff292 You can also use plywood cut to a size you like. You can watch me frame them in my video on finishing a series kzread.info/dash/bejne/hZWdzpVyn7e2ndo.html from around 5:09 minutes.
