I never even considered wiping away a top layer of paint to reveal another. Definitely will be trying this in my next piece. Thank you so much

My abstract paintings I went a completely different route. I never wanted to mimic any artists because that's their style and that represents them. My style represents me and no one else I've given a few of my canvases away to see what type of feedback and criticism it gets from others environment's and people whom I've never met but I always get positive feedback. The world has no idea who I am and not many people have looked at my paintings. Maybe one day they'll know my name and when eyes glance at my paintings they'll know who I am.

And what’s so wrong about “anyone who wants to express themselves can make art”? Why can’t I make art? I don’t have to study under master artists to make art that I enjoy. I don’t consider myself an artist and I’m not trying to sell anything, or be a master at it, but I do want to enjoy myself with it. And what’s wrong with that? I’m not exactly sure what you’re offended by…that people want to make art, that people want to copy the masters - as has been done throughout history, I might add - or just that any person is “allowed” to make art and using cheap supplies, no less!? How very elitist of you! And, IF I wanted to call myself an artist, what’s wrong with that? Who made you the judge of artists?

I only like abstract. Photography is for realism imho!

I think I've written everything about why not everyone is an artist. Why can't everyone play the violin? Why can't everyone write a book? Why can't everyone compose a symphony? Etc..... And all this has nothing to do with judging artists! There must be a reason why you do something! Just for fun? I don't think a single great artist, be it a musician, writer or composer, has done anything for fun!

Oh, you're so smart because you don't enjoy abstract art 🤦🏻♀️...of all the opinions you could share THIS is it? You're trying to shame someone for enjoying painting? Lame.
