Portal is maybe the game mostly know with a shocking twist, however you can kinda see it coming, I know I was suspicous of Glados. However in Bioshock, it never even occured to me that it was some secret code, I just thought he likes saying Would You Kindly as to be polite, it left my mouth hanging wide open when I realized I was a puppet the entire time. Other people might have figured it beforehand, so congrats if you did figure it out.

Well, that's not the only plot twist with Bioshock. Would you kindly ignore this if you don't want spoilers? Jack, is also Ryan's biological, illegitimate son. His mother was Jasmine Jolene and she sold the fertilized egg that would become Jack to Tenenbaum, who worked for Fontaine at the time. The only reason Fontaine wanted Jack to be Ryan's son, was due to Ryan's DNA controlled all of Rapture. If Jack was his son, he'd have half of Ryan's genetic code and would be granted both access to the bathyspheres and to use the Vita-Chambers as respawn points, as the only ones able to use both would have to be someone genetically connected to Ryan. So, you end up killing your own father when you go to kill Ryan. This also explains why Ryan's dialogue starts to become more cryptic as you proceed through the Ryan is in. It has taken Ryan the entire game to figure out who you are, but this information also suddenly puts everything that you find out about Ryan, Jack, Atlas, and Fontaine into a new light.

Yes in the original the game says some toads have been turned into blocks and goombas and Mario breaks the blocks killing toads and steps on goombas crushing the toads to death and Mario first dates daisy then dates peach then leaves peach for Pauline leaving peach and daisy to luigis problem

The wiki says "Some people are confused as to how exactly Jason died; in the scene in which the car hits him, Ethan successfully grabs Jason and pulls his son toward himself, evidently putting himself between Jason and the car. It is never explicitly stated that Ethan's actions directly or indirectly caused Jason's death but it is a possibility, particularly if Jason hit the pavement and Ethan's larger frame was thrown against the boy by the impact."

For me the most shocking twist in a game was Act 3 of Doki Doki Literature Club. Dating sims don't usually get much attention and i'm personally not a fan of them, so I was quite confused why it was blowing up the way it did. Imagine my shock when I actually played the game. The game features 2 massive twists. The end of Act 1 and Act 3. The game starts off as a cute dating sim featuring cute anime girls and then after a bit of usual dating sim gameplay it becomes a psychological horror game. Portal 2's twist halfway through with Wheatley turning evil also took me by surprise (not as much as Doki Doki, but still) as he simply snapped. GlaDos' betrayal had build-up and she got more suspicious as the first game progressed. Wheatley going evil came out of nowhere and I love it for that

I was pretty shocked at the plot twists in "We Happy Few", the fact that Arthur abandoned his brother on the train, Ollie was responsible for the fake tanks, and the biggest shock of all (in my opinion), was the ending to the DLC "We All Fall Down" where we expect everything to be ok only for it to be the opposite.

Silent Hill 2 was a really really good plot twist. It's Kojima levels of good. I think that they(the devs) thought:"Oh,there's no way the player will think that James killed Mary if we give him enough fake evidence to make it seem like he killed her." But still a smart player can connect the pieces before Lakeview Hotel. Pyramid Head-a hellish depiction of James and his thoughts Lower half mannequins-a depiction of James's sexual desires Maria-a fake Mary who actually exists but it all depends on the player if she too real to be true or not Laura-a normal child who sees Silent Hill as a normal town beacuse she hasn't committed anything wrong yet.

The ending of New DanganRonpa V3 was the biggest twist in a game I have ever played. It honestly felt like a slap in the face.

You felt like it was a slap in the face? I can understand, but I enjoyed the revelation more than anything. It felt like a really unique way to end the franchise. And it didnt end on a hopeless note either. It ended just as hopefully as any of the other titles. So, for me at least, it reaffirmed my love of the franchise, even if V3 said I shouldnt like it.

I know it's been a long while since Bioshock came out, but I still can't get over "Would you kindly?". I got the Bioshock collection (back then, only 1+2+DLC) as a wee child and it was my first ever experience of being betrayed by the guiding voice. Being a heartbroken child who was just introduced to the unfairness of life via video game, I ended up abandoning the game entirely and it wasn't until recently when I got the entire Bioshock collection on sale from Steam (..and then Switch) that I went back to finish it.

Okay, I have to say something about this: Aperture Science is NOT a government facility. They’re a private corporation that had a government contract to supply the military with shower curtains in the 50s and competed with Black Mesa for DoD contracts later on. Sorry to be pedantic but that annoyed me to hear, lol.

Spec ops the line is a amazing game. The melee combat actually gets more brutal the further you get into the game and the more Walker slips into insanity

What about the plot twist in Furi? At the end of the game, you find out that your name is Rider, and all this time you were cloned by the " Mothership ", giving you two choices: Sending out the " troops " out in the world you have been fighting so hard to get to. Or declining, being forced to fight the Mothership. Bad ending ( Invasion ) : You send out the troops into the world, followed by a cutscene where you see the bunny man and a little girl, seemingly his daughter, having to watch as their world is coming to an end. The bad ending is actually the only ending that seems to explain or have a reason you were put in those chains at the beginning: They knew what you would do. The guardians have been trying to save the world from you, but they failed. Not even the bunny man knew that you were the real villian. Good ending ( Forgot it's name ) : You choose not to send out the troops, therefore being forced to attack the Mothership. In the end, the whole Mothership blows up, restoring peace to the world. It seems that you were killed in the explosion, but you see a shine in the distance in the ending cutscene, meaning you could still be alive. This ending gives the game another plot twist, all the guardians were actually made by Mothership, and they were controlled to put you in those chains, and stop you if you get out. Mothership prepared a Plan B if you actually made it past all of them and got to her. As I said, she cloned you, and prepared the " troops " in case you weren't really fighting to get to the world and live in peace ( giving you the bad ending if you deploy the troops ) Secret Ending ( No name ) : You get to " THE SONG " fight, where " The song " offers to " take care of you " and for you to stop fighting, and live in peace. If you stay in the main area for a minute or 2 and don't go to the boss arena, you get a secret cutscene, showing that you chose to live in peace. This ending doesn't really have a plot twist, except that she was the only creation by the Mothership that actually resisted and didn't let Mothership control her.

Among the sleep. That the kid was just scared bc his mom had been drinking

Towards the end of The Last Of Us, dialogue with Ellie does foreshadow the ending : Ellie already understands the Fireflies are willing to sacrifice her and, yet, she still continues to seek them. It was not a plot twist we 'never saw coming'.

To be real, the entire idea of Fireflies basically gutting Ellie alive just to create vaccine is stupid. Are they really doctors or just brain dead people, because who has ever created a vaccine out of a fungus? Cordyceps is a Fungus infection, NOT a virus infection which means that no, Fireflies wouldn't have been able to make a vaccine and would instead play with her organs for fun. Fungal infections are always treated with antifungal medicine which isn't made from the fungi itself, meaning that the government messed up horribly and instead of taking one of the infected people and doing various tests with medication WE ALREADY have, THEY left it spread to the point where cities are overrun by these things.

Still remember the shock after the twist in Bioshock. Totally stunned, I wasn’t even suspicious.

Also in Little Nightmares 2, we find out that the character we’ve been playing the whole game gets betrayed and turns into the Tall Man who is the main antagonist we defeated earlier. This creates a time loop with Six going through a portal which starts at the beginning of the 1st game.

I wouldn't know if this is a betrayal or an initial shock, since evidence is directly placed within the game. And I don't know if there are old comments talking about this; but the BATIM stuff with Joey being that main reason that stuff went to hell is really great. Of course the main theme of that game is that the creators betrayed the cartoons, but Joey outworked people, and there are tapes where Joey has a split personality. I just find that interesting.

Bioshock infinite got me shook. Why is it never listed in any of those charts? At the end you find out that you are the villian but in an alternative universe. So basically Booker kidnapped his own daughter just to save her from himself later on. And the relevation that "The circle" wont be unbroken because the Lutece twins will keep bringing you back to other universes so you could try saving her again and again since they feel guilty for taking her away from you. And the foreshadowing everytime you die - Robert knocking on your door again and again, asking you to come help him? The game leading you on to think that Elizabeth is actually your love interest and not your daughter? The relevation that the twins are actually the same person from different universes? The link to Bioshock? The constant foreshadowing with lines such as "I told you it would work this time", the heads or tails game, "The bird or the cage" choice ? A true masterpiece.

In the first one, the character we play (Arthur Hastings) discovers he traded his brother percy in order to escape the Germans when they were young. In the third chapter, the character we play (Ollie Starkey) discovers the girl in his head Margret, who he thought was his daughter, is actually uncle Jack's daughter, with him (Ollie) being somewhat responsible for Margaret's death as he tattled on jack to the Germans and Margret was shot down when trying to run away.

They finally find some glimmer of hope that there could be a way to fix this infection and instead of running months of tests and taking samples so they can get a better idea what’s going on with her they decide to take her apart to see what’s ticking, I hope nothing goes wrong with their tests as it’s not like she can regrow any extra DNA for tests now.

Wait, no one saw Wesker's betrayal coming? He was wearing sunglasses in night and aksi he was shady as hell and unplayable main-ish character. He was either gonna die or become villain.

I would say the game twist that shocked me the most was Little Nightmare 2. I’ve never gasped that loud before, and it messed me up for awhile.

Looking back, Little Nightmares 2 plot twist where Six drops Mono, and RE 8 plot twist which reveals Ethan is made of the Mold are two huge plot twists also.

The Danganronpa series (which does have horror elements in it) is full of huge twists, the third game alone changes a lot.

Among the Sleep is a game you should take a look at and make a theory of. It should have been on this list because it had a surprising plot twist to it

In an RPG Pixel Horror Game known as 'The Witch's House, we play as a girl the game tells us is 'Viola'. The witch that inhabits the house is an orphaned little girl named 'Ellen'. However it is revealed at the end that Viola and Ellen switched bodies and we have been playing as the evil witch this whole time. It really shocked me the first time I experienced it. Rpg horror games in general are really good compared to most mainstream horror, I wonder if you'll ever cover one?

No mention of Pokemon Explorers of Sky? When Dusknoir hides the faintest of smiles...
