7.3 powerstroke, 5.9 cummins 12v or 24v and 6.6 duramax (lb7, lbz, etc) They also have amazing sound.

WOW I’m from the US so I don’t see any eurospec Alfa Romeos, that diesel sounds fantastic and those performance numbers.... WOWWWW 😍

Do they remove the particulate filter to sound like this? I think a lot of these engines are from the pre DPF era.

if u just replace the kat or dpf with a downpipe it already sounds good

When I watch an engine sound comparison of any type of a road-legal vehicle, mostly an inline 6 wins (at least for me) 🙂...just imagine an om606 with Yamaha-tuned exhaust system with 6 into 1 equal length header 🙂...maybe nobody would tell that is actually a diesel 🙂

Peugeot 206 1.9 diesel engine at 5000 rmp yes an diesel engine who goes more than 5000 rmp sound soooooo gooood

To my ears, the Alphas always sound best, and for cheap, even if you factor in all the repairs, Mercs come in a close second, always lookin so stylish yet so growly, kinda Japanese if I think about it. The VW V10 sounds like a jet aircraft.

worth mentioning vw's 6.0 v12 and the 3.0 litre inline 6 from e and f gen BMW that revvs to 6k

The old Volvo Diesels sounds mega, so does the Opel v6 CDTI Engine.

huh, shows what I know, I thought Diesels all had that "Clatter" sound. Some of these vehicles you can only hear that signature sound on low idle

7:48 Don't ever do that in a regular torque converter automatic (regular meaning no launch control). The torque converter will overheat and ultimately blow up very very fast, especially with engines that have a lot of low end torque

what do you think happens when actually using launch control in a car with torque converter? Yes it may put load on your gearbox/drivetrain but a torque converters purpose is slippage. You're most probably not gonna overheat your torque converter doing this... Gearboxes are designed to run at high temperatures and have oil to cater for that so I don't know where you're finding this information.

Never heard before about this V8 Ford.

v8 versjon of the 2.7l v6 co-developed by PSA (Peugeot). Found in Range Rovers mostly (when Ford owned Land Rover)

@@Ezzie0304 If you look at the castings on any of these co developed engines whether the 4, 6 or 8 cylinder they have Peugeot, Citroen (PSA) and Ford emblems on them. They were mostly PSA. I work for Ford and they don't have the expertise in diesel that PSA group do ( they certainly used to be the best). It's called pooling resource's and sharing engineering know how.
