There are hundreds, if not thousands of idioms in the French language. Some are more common than others. In this video, I go over 8 common ones that you'll definitely come across at some point in your learning journey. Not only will these help improve your comprehension skills, but using them when you communicate can add some life and colour to your speech or your texts.

Mon idiom préférée est 'Accorder ses violons 🎻 ' as in 'J'ai faim alors accordez vos violons sinon, je commande chinois' Literally, it means get the violins in tune. But the real meaning would be to draw things together or find a point of agreement.

Can't we say that the equivalent of "ce n'est pas la mer a boire" is " a piece of cake "

Personally I don't think so. When I say doing something is or was a piece of cake, it is coming from a position of ease and lightness and maybe surprise. Eg. Sure, I can do that, it will be a piece of cake. Or 'That was a piece of cake, I finished super fast' But I would use the other expression when something is being dragged, made heavy or imagined to being an ordeal. It's a different position. 'Come now, it's not that hard. Just give it a go' or 'Je sais que tu ne veut pas le faire, mais ce n'est pas la mer à boire' Im not high level french. But I have heard these expressions in use and they tend to follow this same positioning
French use the idiom « Coûter la peau du cul » (To cost the skin of the ass) way more but it’s really informal
c'est pas la mer à boire = it's not the end of the world
Que pasa. (dat was a joke because this is a french channel and i used spanish)
