    Does training yourself to be ambidextrous lead to brain improvement since you get to make connections with a side of your brain, or would it slow us down because it will make both hemispheres compete?

  • @pbilk

    +Mysvious I believe so. It has the same concept as learning new languages, being bilingual and able to switch between the two languages instantly. I also have been on the verge on being ambidextrous and not. Thanks to my mom (homeschool) and the school system. But I have realised the more I focused on using your hands both ways the easier it came, and since that requires me to repeat that action it triggers brain to make better connections on how to do it, making it feel more natural and be more natural for you to do it

    Both of your hands and arms are controled by the same part of the brain so no it would not help devlope a specfic side of the brain however it could improve general motor skills and if you prusude it furthur you could learn how to write with both hands at the same time.

That way viewers can learn to check other people's research. If everyone checked each other's sources, I bet we'd all start debunking myths on a much larger scale!

    How hard is it to fuse atoms into another element. Could you use hydrogen and turn it into potasium, or even better, iron?

  • @Aliztro

    @Aliztro

    8 жыл бұрын

    You would have to re-assemble the protons, neutrons and electrons in the atom. Say, in Oxygen you have so many of the mentioned, you would have to add more or lessen the mentioned so it would become a new atom. In conclusion, more chance of getting our hands on anti-matter, even for a split-second.

    @Honest Tech Reviews, I think that might be a little beyond the scope of a short video on things that can easily be looked up, but I agree. Science doesn't necessarily prove something, It's a tool, just like math. You often hear people say that numbers don't lie. Number do not lie or tell the truth. They are a tool. A mathematical statement can be "true" and have nothing to do with reality. Many people seem to believe that when the word science is evoked that it's a done deal.

    +Gamevana I was thinking the same thing. If the astronaut was simply at one point above the Earth, they would start to fall toward it fairly rapidly. Because of the extreme velocity from the orbiter, the astronaut effectively cancels out the effects of Earth's gravity and is thus near weightless. Science is awesome, isn't it?

    +Lite Side Ill try to explain. Basically when you move the only thing keeping you from accelerating to insane speeds is friction. The friction from the floor slows you down, as well as the friction from the air. When in the bus the floor below you is holding still (relative to you). This means the friction that you would normally get when the floor is moving backwards (relative to you) isn't there. The same goes for the air in the bus.

    When they say "Your brain only uses 10% of it capacity" it means only 10% at a given time. So your still using 100% of your brain just not at once. Unless your doing some extremely thought provoking test that has noise, taste, temperature, movement, brainstorming, solving problems, etc. then it's unlikely your using all your brain. Lazy TLDR; You use 10% of your brain at a given time.

    Wanna know something funny? Of course you do. When I was little, one of my doctors beleived the gum myth... One day I was having some gum, the doctor needed to look for signs of strep because my little brother had it. She told me to spit out me gum and she gave me a tissue. I said "It's ok! I'll swallow it!" She responded with, " No! If you swallow your gum, you'll grow a gum tree going up your throat!" (Clearly a bit of an exageration to make sure I didn't swallow) I liked gum, so I thought, hmmm a gum tree means infinite gum! And I swallowed the gum.

    I guess the fact that our brain cells can regenerate explains why we get confused when we hit our heads and then remember the WRONG thing we were doing, but most of the time we forget completely.

  • @Aliztro

    @Aliztro

    8 жыл бұрын

    The exact opposite. Say, you are learning to ride a bike for the first time step-by-step. Each that, your brain makes way for the brain cells/neurons to remember/memorise a.k.a memory. When you master it, you can't forget the basic because it is drilled into your head; not literally. So that is why, even after years, you probably still know how to ride a bike-unless your brain made way for new things.
