We learned a lot in this one. None of us had ever reassembled an engine, and we actually got it to kind of fire after we put it all back together.
Due to our timing being off, and our Holley carburetor being messed up, a small fire started on the top of our engine.
Really, we shouldn't have kept cranking on it when it didn't want to start right away. As we later found out, it doesn't take that much cranking to get an engine to fire up as long as you have it all put together properly. In our case, it wasn't put together perfectly.
In the next episode, we figure out that our intake was improperly sealed, our carburetor needed a rebuild, and our timing was off due to me cranking on the harmonic balancer to initially unseize the engine. We sort that all out and put it on the lake!
