Love these early 60's Galaxies. This one's Sick!
Always loved that body style. Pure beast. This is so f-ing tastefully done i bow my head with respect.
I remember when these came out as '63'1/2 Fords. That struck me as sort of strange but when I saw the car, I was a believer as the styling of the fastback was a great move on Ford's part. It was big, sexy, and had plenty of room under the hood. I still love the sleekness of the car. I've built several 460's but never one that made that kind of ponies. I'd love to drive that baby.
I love the Thunderbolt lookin hood....That Ford is nothin but beautiful brutality....

WOW!!!! A 460 Ford is the way to go. Cheap. fast horsepower!!!! That is what hot rodding is all about!!!! Great Galaxie 500, great video, and thanks for sharing!!!! You made my night!!!!
This brings back good memories! At 17 in 1970 my first car was a one owner ladies car. '64 500 XL fastback. White over red & red interior. Big bucket seats, console & automatic on floor. 390 4 bbl. We rebuilt the engine, aluminum TRW pistons, 428 CJ "C" cam, Ford aluminum dual four intake, two 600 Holley carbs. Dual point distributor & headers. Installed a beefed C6, it would break the tires loose when it went into 2nd under partial acceleration. Loved the car! My 2nd car was a '65 square back mustang with a factory 289 hipo, but that's another story! Thanks for sharing this video, love that car, & the tear drop scoop! Came factory on T-Bolts & the other bodies with 427 hi risers! Adds to the great looks!❤ Fabulous Fords Forever!❤👍🏁
What a car! Nick such a nice guy, glad he really enjoys the car. Superb build, real full size badass. Glad he went with the bulletproof 460. That shot with the smoke rising from the melted rubber on the road! Btw, there is nothing NOT to like in your vids Shawn, setting, music, photography, cars, everything is just spot on.
Quality build right there. Once you go BBF, you never go back. It's far cheaper to build than an FE. It's also MUCH stronger than an FE or BBC. I swapped in a 460 in my 68' Torino and smile like a kid, from the moment I take it out to the moment I back it into the garage.
@Coronet_shop
Жыл бұрын
Stronger than a FE are you nuts!!!!? There’s a good amount of folks running two spinny boys, in their Torino’s and galaxies making 800+ hp with ease, they’re still holding up stroker or no stroker.
I love the original interior and how he left it alone !!! Original interiors are beautiful! A beautiful car that looks aggressive with some stock components love it

Sparko front seats and rear seat delete? Yuck! No thanks! Agree one hundred percent. 😉✌️
This was the same car my dad had when I was a kid. My first memories in a car are of this car. The interior and the carpet are exactly the same. Seeing that brought back memories that I hadn't even thought of since the early 80's. Thanks for the upload.
That punched out 385 series motor was the way to go with this build. They can make great power plus u stay all FoMoCo!

My favorite Ford by far!
Back in 1964 my honey and I double dated with her best friend, and her bo owned a 1963 R Code 427 Galaxy. So we’re in the backseat and he’s cruising El Cajon Blvd in San Diego looking for a street race. He got one, a 409 Chevy, and as he banged off the gears in that 427 Galaxy you could feel the torque and hp coming through the floorboard into the backseat…almost as good as, well, you know!
@AutotopiaLA

Great build and really cool owner/builder
To finish the story installed the engine in my 59 Galaxie with the three speed tyranny and exploded it on the first hard launch....went to another junk yard and got all the rest of the running gear out of another wrecked R code..installed it in my folks carport. Replaced my five spoke mags with original steel wheels, big hubcaps and a set of cheater slicks...352 valvecovers and air cleaner worked with biggest AFB carb you could buy....yes, it was a sleeper and with the column linkage still in place and a leather jacket covering the 4 sp. Shifter left a lot of Chevys wondering what just happened . I drooled over a white 63 1/2 Galaxie fastback with black bench seats, 2,000 miles with an asking price of $2,700 sitting on a used car lot ...way out of my budget at 18 years old.

63 Galaxies are sweet rides. I was in Grade 7 when I saw my first one. A convertible that my friends father owned. In those days that was a sweet ride. I like how he’s freaking out about the stock seat belts. Our 1960 Pontiac didn’t have any seat belts.
When you look up "stance" in the dictionary there is a picture of that car... Nailed it. The exhaust note is right on. Love 63 1/2 fastback Galaxies. My folks had one that they bought brand new, the first car that I remember as a kid. Light blue with a white top, only a 260 or 289 but to a 2 or 3 year old it was too cool....

It would be a crime to do a shoot on this Galaxie without a Proper Burnout. Badass Galaxie😎
Blue oval power! Sweet.
Very, very good editing and pacing in these videos. 8 minutes feels like 3. Perfect build on this Ford! Clean.
Wow what do I see a shooting star across the Galaxy🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That was my first car. It was my grandfather's before it became mine in 1979. Had the 289 under the hood and I had such great times cruising around town with her back when I was young.

Haha dude :40 in is my theme song! Epidemic sounds FTW. Love this channel man!!
Nothing like a big block 💪💪 Long live the combustion engine. 👊👊
In 1967 I scored a R code 427 out of a 63 1/2 Ford Galaxie that broke a rod and wrapped it around its neighbor and was wedged between the counterweight. Took it to JC engine rebuilding shop class and it became a class project. Got two rods and pistons from junk yard
Super Cool...as is the '65 Coronet Hemi you featured. Wish we could see both of them duke it out!
Shauns face and smiles says it all beautiful car!
When I lived in NC I'm pretty sure my Dad had a Galaxie 500 in the very early 70s.

Wow...that thing is beastly....absolutely love that hood scoop on them....great vid Shawn
that car is absolutely awesome i love the 63 1/2
That’s a nice sweet ride 👍
Those are such pretty cars. I remember a friend of mine, Danny Ruffalo, had one (his father’s car). We were just 12 years old, but really into cars. Danny was very proud of that car. My dad had a 64 Pontiac Parisienne convertible, white with black interior and roof and his father had a Galaxie 500 convertible in a cream colour with a white interior and roof. The Galaxie was gorgeous and had the 390 engine. Our Pontiac just had a small block. I would say that Danny easily won the bragging rights.
I have a 69 ford custom base 2 door sedan, on the rare side, I have a pretty good little d0ve motor sitting in storage, this is giving me ideas.
