I've done 1 rep with that on a smaller and more stable bar at my gym. I was in a single ply suit with no knee wraps , and I'll tell you it's really hard to do. With Wraps I don't think I'd have done more than 2 that day a year ago. It's some heavy shit. The breathing and lung compression is the main problem when you go over 500lbs or 2X your body weight. At double or more bodyweight for any person, the pressure can cause you to pass out. I've seen 123lbs class lifters pass out under 300 lbs to 400lbs squats before. It's insane the amount of cardio and core strength it takes to pull that off. Tip for new squatters -- work those knees and work on flexibility. just 2 tips from a former USAPL top 10 ranker.

No offense but he's been out of the pro circuit a long while. And is getting up there in years. Not knocking older athletes, but unless they've been having a good track record of placing well in other shows, shouldn't be invited.

No they are not, none of those guys are close to strength Big Z , Eddie , Thor had at their peak. In fact those guys are winning because those 3 are retired and Brian Shaw is out of his prime. In 2009 - 2016 era none of those new guys would ever make the podium.

You do know this is a qualifier group, something which the events are not trained as extensively as the final's events. Why would these Strongman spend all their training on the group qualifier events? Also, 15 reps is the most ever done on the wsm squat bar by Eddie and Z, the best squatters in Strongman. what you said is like saying all the newer strongman are piss poor because they all can't deadlift 500kg or log press 230kg. These Strongman today are very much strong
