We've pieced together all the episodes of the tiny cabin that Dad built for his granddaughter. We did not feature her in the episode, as there are certain parts of our lives that we like to keep private. This cabin is only part of the "mini village" which we are building for her, there are more, like the iron-age roundhouse which we recently finished. I am sure she is enjoying it very much! She does NOT need to be in the video as it would add nothing to the wonderful construction.

What I would do to work along side of my grandfather again. He loved anything that had to do with carpentry. Unfortunately he passed away this last past March and I miss him greatly. Grandparents are the best. Enjoy every minute with them.

You are sooo right. As a girl this is why I love woodworking soo much. Ans he was semi blind. I was his little helper. Mine passed over 24 years ago and I still miss him to thia day. ☺

How beautiful 😍 My grandfather built me a treehouse when I was little. We spent hours there hiding from grandmother and he used to tell me stories about pioneer things. This is all priceless to me. I'm absolutely loving this play house. I know your granddaughter will love this 😀

First of all What a Great Grandpa to build a cabin for his granddaughter! Second I love how all of the build was 'old school' , just a Sawzall, jig saw, and a drill, no big shops or a lot of tools. Just the experience to know how to get it done.

My beautiful, clever dad, was a Joiner (and then Master Builder). He made toys and houses for my children when they were little. If my dad made it, it is still solid and beautiful. This was lovely to watch, brought a tear to my eye, and made me remember him as I watched this being worked.

This video just reminded me of my grandfather building me my first true tree house for me when I was 6, that's been 32 years ago, and that tree fort stayed in that tree for almost 12 years so my 2 younger brothers were able to use it as well after our grandpa past!!!

His LABOUR OF LOVE is a cherished gift to the one he loves most he trades time and moments he could be doing something for himself but for those few who understand the true meaning of a life well lived know that the labour is the gift. Inspiring to see and get to share a small moment in this man's journey... puts me in a state of realizing how precious my own family is and how important they are and how little time we are given...soak it in people we are not here for long.
