70 Year Old Man Builds Tiny Cabin for his Granddaughter using Reclaimed Pallet Wood

This 70 year old man is building a tiny cabin for his granddaughter using free pallet wood that he recycled over the years. He saved money by using cheap materials, often reclaimed. It is a simple, easy and cheap diy project. He built the cabin in winter, over the course of a few weeks. The cabin has a foldaway bed made from pallets, a welsh dresser, a tiny kitchen, two windows in the gable ends, a porch with pallet wood balcony and raised beds for flowers. It also has a mini log store outside and gate to get access to the back. This cabin build is part of an ongoing project on our channel where grandad is building a mini village for his granddaughter to play in as she grows up. So far it features this tiny cabin and an iron age mini roundhouse with a thatched roof. We are now in the stage of planning the next house for her.
This cabin was built by my Dad, please head over and subscribe to his channel: / tafishing
Many people don't have access to wilderness or forests to build an off grid log cabin or any cabin for that matter. So this project is aimed for those who might not have that access to land, to be able to build the cabin at home with cheap materials. Pallet wood can often be collected for free if you ask permission. The wood is light and easy to work with.

We've pieced together all the episodes of the tiny cabin that Dad built for his granddaughter. We did not feature her in the episode, as there are certain parts of our lives that we like to keep private. This cabin is only part of the "mini village" which we are building for her, there are more, like the iron-age roundhouse which we recently finished. Each episode of this series can be seen in the video description. For the past few months we have been collecting resources for the next house in the mini village, so keep an eye out for the next build soon. Meanwhile, you can keep up with each episode of this series here: kzread.info/head/PLxnadpeGdTxCR3bKec_-B37vVSpdxPau0 - Thanks for watching, see you next week! - Mike

The true essence of a baby who grew up a boy who grew up to become a man and eventually a grandfather, who had his moment when the world felt small enough to fit into his hand, then life does what it does to all and he realizes how fleeting life is. His LABOUR OF LOVE is a cherished gift to the one he loves most he trades time and moments he could be doing something for himself but for those few who understand the true meaning of a life well lived know that the labour is the gift. Inspiring to see and get to share a small moment in this man's journey... puts me in a state of realizing how precious my own family is and how important they are and how little time we are given...soak it in people we are not here for long.
