My graduating class was 1972, the year I went into the Marine Corps. After I got out I returned home and started looking up my old school friends. It was sad times as a lot of the kids that were popular in school were barely getting by in the real world and they had no friends. I came away realizing that their 4 years of high school was the best part of their entire life and was all they could reflect on for good memories. I was just the opposite. I was not popular in school, because I was poor and hung out with the "wrong clique." But, upon coming out of the Marine Corps I found a new confidence in myself and it attracted people. I found that I was good at almost everything I did and people admired that. I got popular AFTER I got out of school and it continued for a lot longer than 4 years! I've lived an amazing life that others only dream of!

Many people spend their high school years just having fun with their friends and being popular. They don't realize that you better learn something and have goals by the end of those four years. I'm so happy the military gave you confidence and accomplishments! Thank you for your service!

Wow, great job posting this, really put a smile on my face with the great pics, and the music!!! I graduated from Granada Hills High in 1975. Norman Mathers was the Principal. He was the real life father of Jerry Mathers, (The Beaver...from "Leave it to Beaver"). He brought Larry Fine, (one of the 3 Stooges), to give an inspiring talk to our Senior class, then later on he arranged for Yvonne De Carlo, (Lily from "The Munster's") to speak to our senior class, as well! Is that you pictured from 1:20-1:22 with keys to your new blue Datsun truck? My first car was a 1975 Red Datsun truck (with shiny diamond tape on the hood, and sides) that I bought new, Sept. 17, 1975... still have the original loan paperwork, my boss co-signed for me. Paid $3700 out the door for it, and I still have pics of that truck as well. I pulled it on the front lawn, and took pics of it brand new, and drove it like crazy, with my new found driving freedom!! I really admire your creativity in putting this together! Thank you, again!
