I graduated in 1974. We simply absolutely didn't understand how good we had it in school. I would go back in a heartbeat. We did our absolute best because we knew the way the world was, with Vietnam, we could have been drafted in a heartbeat. RIP to those classmates over the years that did get drafted and took the golden BB...

John 3:18 “He that believeth in Him is not condemned; but He that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Revelation 21 8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” 1 Corinthians 6 18 Flee fornication. Every other sin which a man doeth is outside the body, but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. Matthew 12 45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.” Romans 8:6 21st Century King James Version 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace, Luke 12:20 21st Century King James Version 20 But God said unto him, ‘Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee. Then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?’ 1 Timothy 5:6 21st Century King James Version 6 But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth. 1 Corinthians 6 9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the Kingdom of God? Be not deceived: Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor the effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners shall inherit the Kingdom of God. 1 John 2:17 21st Century King James Version 17 And the world passeth away and the lust thereof, but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. No school shootings, very few fights, they were ended quickly by the teachers/administrators. We all actually talked, spent time with each other and developed friendships.

Nah, I was in high school in the 70’s. It was not the best time to be in high school. Teaching was mostly teacher centered. We listened to lectures and took notes then pop quizzes. It was dull and depressing with cliques of jocks, nerds, popular kids, and freaks. Bussing was a new social experiment which meant half the students rode for miles to the other side of the city to attend school. If you were white and wealthy your parents moved to a white suburb so you could attend a “good school” like the one pictured in the video. It was really closed minded to live during the 70’s. If you overthought it, you wanted to just jump off the planet!

Reminds me of Harrison High School. I graduated from City College (Baltimore) in '67 but I knew a girl who graduated from Harrison in 1970. I met some of her classmates, saw what they wore and how they interacted, and this film reflects some of that. I'd guess that some of these kids are grandparents today, looking back with a sentimental tear in their eye through the lens of their personal computers, a technology was a decade down the road.

the Lovin' Spoonful "Younger Generation" 1967 John Sebastian Why must every generation think their folks are square? And no matter where their heads are they know Mom's aint there Cause I swore when I was small that I'd remember when I knew what's wrong with them that I was smaller than Determined to remember all the cardinal rules Like sun showers are legal grounds for cutting school I know I have forgotten maybe one or two And I hope that I recall them all before the baby's due And I know he'll have a question or two Like "Hey pop can I go ride my Zoom? It goes two hundred miles per hour suspended on balloons And can I put a droplet of this new stuff on my tongue And imagine frothing dragons while you sit and wreck your lungs?" And I must be permissive, understanding of the younger generation And then I'll know that all I've learned my kid assumes And all my deepest worries must be his cartoons And still I'll try to tell him all the things I've done Relating to what he can do when he becomes a man And still he'll stick his fingers in the fan And "Hey pop, my girlfriend's only 3 She's got her own videophone and she's a taking LSD And now that we're best friends she wants to give a bit to me And what's the matter Daddy, how come you're turning green Can it be that you can't live up to your dreams?"

I grew up in Denver in the 70's but I was much different than anyone else. I attended a Catholic boarding school for 2 years which was a big party. Then I went to a public school from Junior to Senior year. I used to hang with my aunt and uncles who were bikers and I knew and partied with many bikers. I announced to these bikers that I was leaving the Catholic scene and they threw me a party. It was cool, I was given a Sportster Harley...first day of school, 8 bikers on their hogs escorted me into the school parking lot. Freaking cool as hell. I got off my bike, walked across the parking lot full of students and no one said jack shit. I had long hair back them and I drove the chicks wild..I bred like an old bull for 2 years, I preferred the chubbie chicks and I gave many a ride on me bike..High School, so many people were so fearful and I made friends with the nerds and fought the bulliess for their sake....43 years later, I still have some of them same nerdy friends! My fellow students were great but a trip with their hang ups.

I had a LOT of beautiful girl friends. I used to piss off the jocks. One time, I got this really mean jock mad at me because I stole his girlfriend, and to put icing on the cake, she was told to choose who will take her to the high school prom. She chose me! LOL. it was funny because I was a high school drop out, but she chose to go with me! The jocks hated me. At first they'd try to jump on me when I went to the schools to talk to chicks, but I started bring a friend of mine with me. Luis! He was 7' 2" tall. Luis was cool with me because I hooked him up with his girlfriend at a party, and he said he owed me a favor for that. I said, okay! You keep those damn sissy ass jocks off my back so that I can talk to the girls. He did! It was funny.
