Kylo doesn’t trust Hux because he committed patricide? *Ironic*

This made me literally laugh out loud.
One thing I found super interesting in the book is that the hyperspace coordinates Holdo jumps to to destroy the Supremacy were actually inputed by Poe when Poe was in charge of the Raddus’ bridge. By the time Holdo used them, their destination had changed from in front of them to behind them, and Holdo had no more time to make other calculations, so saving the fleet actually ended up being a combined effort between Poe and Holdo.

I really feel bad sometimes seeing the other more 'clickbait' channels have more subscribers and views that you. I just want to say keep doing what you're doing. It's excellent and very well put together.
After having seen Solo , it’s clear that the personality of the falcon that makes dirty jokes is L3! I really enjoy your videos, well done by the way!
No one has mentioned that the line Poe Dameron says about being the spark to light the fire to burn down the First Order was first said by Cham Syndulla in the book Dark Lords of the Sith.

Its a great read. Action packed thriller that involves a plan organized by Cham Syndulla to take out Vader and Sidious. Sure we know he doesn't succeed but it is still had me on the edge of my seat.

+SW er not sure. I listened to the audiobook on yt.
This book emphasizes why I love the EU. I love seeing how the various bits of lore are all connected and everything in the galaxy links to another part of it. Also, in hind sight, the three AI brains in the falcon feels like a hint at plot points to come in Solo
That's why I'm glad this book came out a few months after the movie. The norm for novelizations is usually to release them before or on the same day as the movie. However, this usually leads either to inconsistencies with the final movie, or to the novelizations being pretty average. So I was glad that Jason Fry had extra time to make the book consistent, good, and have all these extra details. I hope that future novelizations will follow this one's example.

@SineEyed

Yeah plus writing the novelization after the fact means the author can go in and do some damage control - making sense out of things that made no sense, adding details and tidbits to try and patch plot holes, basically doing whatever it takes to smooth the edges of a nonsensical screenplay..
I think the idea of Luke envisioning an alternate life might've been borrowed from Scorcese's "The Last Temptation of Christ," another story of an initially reluctant man who eventually sacrifices himself for the greater good.
Great movie. Great book!

9:24 that kind of makes more sense on how a droid can’t be used for this manoeuvre as droids can’t turn off safety measures and programme overrides. So that means only people can do this. And people don’t usually think to turn off safety measures.

So Luke’s green saber is on Ach-to. Doesn’t that mean Rey could go back and pick it up, maybe make herself a new saber with it’s kyber crystal. Have some Luke force ghost visions while she is at it.
@Janoha17

I think the kyber crystal from Anakin's lightsaber is still functional, and Rey will built a saberstaff, bridging the gap between her skills with the quaterstaff and her inexperience with a lightsaber.

So I guess one of the droid brains on the Falcon was...SPOILERS L3 from Solo. She might be that one who likes romantic gossip and dirty jokes....

MAGnet Hauser That's different. Inserting a very slow paced scene in the middle of the film's climax kills the pace in a totally different way.
I still think it's weird that in order to properly tell a complete story, a film has to have secondary material to explain things and at the same time have more questions. I mean, reading novels and playing video games wasn't necessary to understand the OT.
Thanks, Alex! I also like the tidbit suggesting Maz Kanata's ability to see past lives suggests reincarnation is possible within the Force.

So glad there are still true Imperials who know that the First Order is full of incompetent, inexperienced wannabes who try to grasp for glory that does not belong to them. Not at all glad to hear Inferno Squad mentioned in relation to the New Republic and/or Resistance; I will need years to leave that BF2 campaign behind me.

Beta Ray Bill Fan If you take the story for itself, it was perhaps not bad but also not really good. It was simply lacking in execution, devoted too much time to the heroes of the Rebellion when it should have focused on the members of Inferno Squad. Add to that disappointment over the predictable course of the campaign despite all advertisement and interviews, and that I personally am not a fan of what happens post-Endor in canon period, and you get where my lack of enthusiasm comes from.
@indistraction5414
6 жыл бұрын
Yup. The Fulminatrix commander Captain Canady was an imperial vet who also happened to loath Hux. Captain Peavey (the guy who's by Hux's side for most of TLJ) also hates Hux as can be seen throughout the film with his eye-rolls, side eyes, and death glares. Both respected the chain of command too much to protest though and even if they did, I doubt Snoke cared. He seemed to like having young, insecure officers at the top so he could easily manipulate them because his creepy prune ass was just that arrogant.

i Tqzy I apologize. I thought people would have it easier to understand "Rebel propaganda speak". Most of them sadly know no better.
I wouldn't mind seeing a Character Video on Poe Dameron. We know so little of him from the Movies still, yet he is probably the character from the new trilogy that we have the most background on from books and comics Though, I can understand holding back since his story hasn't been concluded yet really
This types of videos are interesting.
The pic at 2:48 should be plastered everywhere so fanboys quit whining about "bombs falling in space!"
It's so nice when writers in giant collaborative 'verses like Star Wars make an effort to keep continuity.
I thought Poe's reaction when Holdo is announced as Leia's successor indicated he thought command would pass to him. Nice to see this confirmed in the book, because I don't think many people picked up on that from his body language in that scene.
After watching TLJ for the first time and seeing the mix of GOOD and BAD moments embedded in the film, maybe the novel adaptation of TLJ will be a decent book to read. Since connections, references, and Easter eggs to the ST [Sequel Trilogy] are finally captured, I am deeply and happily satisfied. NICE job!! Jason Fry has finally been added to my list of favorite Star Wars authors---and meticulous, as well. 🙂😀😎👍👍🌠📚
Very good video on movies as well as books in between...very good
I'm always wondering how they keep track of all the events and characters: do the authors just know and check all the possible books when they are unsure, or is the some mighty fine database that contains all the characters with the events in chronological order with a reference to where this event was stated/shown or referenced?
10:47 I guess that's L3?
It also recanonized Coranu Radiation and showed that the Raddus wasn't yet in hyperspace when it hit the supremacy.
The three droid brains of the Falcon were actually first mentioned in the Star Wars Sourcebook published by West End Games in 1987. It's nice to see such an obscure reference become canon.
Could you make a video on how han freed kashyyyk?

Its in the Aftermath series, if you really feel like you will never have the time to read read the wookiepedia page. But I highly suggest not doing that and instead waiting till you have a chance to read the book. The stories in Aftermath are worth the wait and it is so much better to read a book not knowing what is going to happen rather than expecting the events from reading wookiepedia. You could have also get the audiobooks from audible and listen to one book every weekend.
Jason Fry is so amazing.
One of these facts make me sad. I was expecting that Kylo actually took Luke's lightsaber and bled it's crystal (don't know if it's a Sith technique or a Dark Side technique) to make his lightsaber (instead of of his own crystal). Book seens fun anyway. Can't wait to read. Nice video as always
@StuartLugsden

Ben used his own lightsaber.
Rose telling Finn his little round droid was hiding in the toilet was hilarious! That whole scene with Rose trying to teach Finn to fly I really wish had been in the movie.
All of this should have been in the movie.
Will you do a video about the Bith Species and also why admiral Akbar species were always leaders and pilots
Still not going to make me like the direction of new canon, but it makes it more tolerable. The new canon outside of the movies are well done, I just wish that we can now get an explanation on Luke.
Shriv for episode 9!
I also liked how they explained in the beginning of the book why the resistance fleet was low on fuel
i am shredded
I'm really curious the true whereabouts of Luke's lightsaber. In HIS version of his confrontation with Kylo. When you see him climb out of the rubble and kneel besides R2, there is no lightsaber on his belt. Unless he dug it out after that. So I wonder if it's actually Canon that the Caretakers have it?
I truly love this channel. But I also truly don't understand how you're so comfortable with all fan service being marginalized to the books and comics. I wish I could feel the same.
I would like some more information on general ematt because for an old man he looks like a badass

Jake Skywalker He'd never met her, so it makes sense. Rey is a neutral-sounding enough name. Also, to the OP, I don't think that the TLJ novel will get retconned due to Jason Fry being able to work with the final version of the script. Additionally, I can't think of anything that was retconned from the TFA novelization besides Poe meeting Rey.
I didn’t notice that Poe thought that Rey was a boy.
Luke didn't react to his old lightsaber? Did he at least recognize it?
