also. I was focused on another aspects of the game. so I missed totally the auto supply. also by hunting. 1st when I started to collect 3 stars, I recognized, that you see on the card where you can catch the fish, how big it is and if it appears during the day or the night time and the depth where you can find it =)

@@AlexTRex3000Late reply that you probably know the answer to by now, but from the menu boards-as in the literal wooden boards hanging above your bar that show the menu to the customers-you can see how much of each stock is left, and if a stock’s run out it gets a big red x over the corresponding recipe’s sign.

So when choosing your staff, before you hire them you can hit "details" and it will show their max possible stats (once fully trained) plus their two skills. This can allow you to identify a cooking or serving specialist before you hire them. Strangely his only works before hiring.

Dismantle weapons you are not using that you find while exploring . Easily get 2-4 fragments depending on the weapon level .

This is definitely an option but I personally prefer the workshop method. Towards the end of the game, when you have no real reason to open weapon cases, it can become quite tedious - at least for me. If it works for you then definitely do it, it is a good method!

​@@phinqs I think they meant more as you progress instead of late game. If you add up all the weps you left during a run, it was probably more than enough fragments to get a fully upgraded weapon of choice. More importantly it makes it more feasible to upgrade weps before you unlock the workshop.

There is never no reason... You can upgrade your weapons. As in the orange weapon upgrade. Just because the weapons themselves are mostly useless (after you've researched them) that doesn't mean everything in there is useless

I would recommand tranquilizer triple axel intead of the tranquilizer rifle, as each bullet from the triple axel can trigger the 40% chance of tranquilization individually, leads to a very high chance of tranquilze every fish in one single shot.

It feels like auto supply was a hot fix at some point. Very little introduction to it, and makes the other "prepping ingredients" part of the game totally irrelevant for the most part. My guess is they used to have just the prep meals version, and realized it was super annoying, and added auto supply last minute.

I had never thought of it like this but honestly, I think you may be right. It does make a lot of the other features a little useless.

One thing the game didn't tell you until too late is don't level up your ranking so fast. Because higher rank like from gold, cost you around 2k of unexplained expenses per day.

That is true. The restaurant rank determines the operational cost at the end of each evening. However, each increase in rank also comes with an increase in customers per evening. Therefore, if you can make up 2,000 or 4,000 (depending on Platinum or Diamond rank) with these additional customers then it is definitely worth it!

I spent forever doing this when it first became available. Although, after I unlocked the workshop I got lazy, haha!

Another random tip for reaching Diamond rating, which requires a dish with a taste level of 375. There is an almost 100% (seems around 95%) Narwhal spawn directly below where you enter into the Glacial Depths. You can go to glacial depths, catch the Narwhal and then swim back up to the exit. Never serve the Narwhal, instead level it up to 10. You can get level 10 Narwhal sushi really quickly with this method and get your Diamond cooksta rating.

There is a lot of content in this game. However, you can interact with each event at your own pace. If you miss a deadline, it will roll around again within a week or so. My best advice would just be to enjoy the game and tackle it at a speed that is enjoyable for you personally. Good luck!

I was exactly the same. It is a feature that is easy to miss!

I've managed to get 2 of all species save for some super rare ones (Damn you kelp zoneeeee), it's doable since the first zone farm fully upgraded is at about 70% density in that situation. You do need to clear all farms every morning though, since there's a chance for some species to have explosive birth rates. There also seems to be no upper limit to how far you can go above the density cap from births, my record was 174% full thanks to 10 tiger sharks being born at once.

Nice! I was in a similar situation but I got frustrated at the need to visit the fish farm every morning so I removed all the lower rank fish that I did not need. You are right about the density cap too. There is no cap currently. The most I heard someone achieve was around 300% but I do not know how they managed it!

When you played enough times you will have a special gear called Steel Net Sensor trap to catch the Tuna but you can also use it to catch the blue spoted stargazer, you just need to place it near the fish than lure it, it will catch the fish

I thought that this would be important information to share, given the ocean-related nature of this video game. 35% of all ocean microplastics come from clothing/textiles, mostly polyester, but also acrylic and nylon as well. This is largely due to clothes made of these materials being washed, which causes these clothes to quickly erode, with the microplastic fibers entering the water system, and eventually, the sea, where they often end up consumed by fish. These microplastics can in turn end up inside us when we eat these fish. Ocean Hero is a great search engine that we can use to help clean up larger plastics before they disintegrate into microplastics.

Really helpful vid man! Thanks! Whats also a really smart way to earn a lot of Sea People Currency, is by winning the shark mouth game next to the sea horse races. Its almost an auto win if you can count! When playing the game, be aware that when you're about 7 teeth away, you need to make sure your opponents turn can't possible end at the tooth before the trigger. That said, I easily make 300-500 daily with that technique

I think the best weapon is the tranquilizer sniper, it's perfect in any situation: do serious damage, and can tranquilize any pray. The main issue is the magazine capacity tho...

You mentioned the sea horses and questboard for the sea people currency, but you can also get it from the arcade. There are at least 3 games there, that if you know how to play, are all pretty easy and are available earlier

1:18 I've been blasting stargazers with the harpoon, only takes a few shots to take it out. But granted, the net will get you a higher quality catch.

A better way to farm sea people coins is the shark teeth game in the casino: just count the teeths and stay 4/8/12/16 teeths away from the one you want to avoid. For example L is the loosing teeth and you're the first to play, choose 1 A AAAA AAAA AAAA L AAA Then, if he plays 1 you play 3, if he plays 2 you play 2, if he plays 3 you play 1 until he inevitably has to loose. If he starts first it's the same method.

No problem! I am really not a fan of those restaurant tasks, haha! In my opinion, Maki is really great throughout the whole game. However, I think she is a little bit overkill towards the end of the game. This is simply because other characters will get a different skill such as "Ingredient Prep Expert", which may be considered more beneficial since the difference between 908 cooking (Charlie's cooking at level 20) and 1055 cooking (Maki's cooking at level 20) is not that great. I still use Maki though since I am not hugely passionate about the optimum arrangement.

I almost bought this on the Steam sale yesterday, now I might have to anyway.

It is crazy to see how far games have come graphically without necessarily developing core mechanics. Obviously, this isn't true for all games, as many modern games are much more advanced. However, I have always been a huge fan of Runescape which is very simple in concept but extremely captivating. Dave the Diver is just as captivating, in my opinion!

Oh wow, in german the "auto-supply" is translated to "auto-cook" and I thought the cooking is automated anyways, that's why I never understood what this feature is about. And since I am still in an early-mid state of the game I didn't want to waste fish or money to test it.` I thought this feature would need additional materials to activate it. So if you are good at predicting the number of customers, is it really good/worth to use it?

That is a really unfortunate translation. I think it is really useful and I have used it for the majority of my time on the game. However, if you know how many customers you are expecting then you can just count to make sure you supply the correct amount. I think it is more convenient than counting every night though, personally!

30k a night ? Those are rookie numbers, you need to pump those numbers up! Also, easiest way to getting fragments is disassembling guns you find. You are collecting stuff anyway like pots and high grade minerals, disassembling few guns in a dive can net you 0-30 fragments based on drop rate

You should help your employees working in the restaurant, that way you get more customers ( you can only get new customers when the old ones go away, which happens faster if you help out) I use recipes on level 7 right now, and I earn around 50k-90k per night, per restaurant

I've been playing quite a while already but I've not been allowed to Upgrade My weapons yet. It's been frustrating because Im headed towards a Boss Fight with a Shark and the Storm has dumped a Bunch of sharks I struggle against and they've ruined quite a few of my dives because I can't get away from them very easily. so if I put say 5 sushi on my menu and run out if I have it on Auto Supply they'll restock it? That's pretty useful.

Weapon upgrades are not a huge requirement for progression. It is possible to move through the games story without upgrades so I would just try to approach each situation carefully. Try to move perpendicular to the sharks movement to avoid their attacks. Also, yes you can put as many sushi as you like to begin with (even one) and it will automatically be restocked when it runs out. Good luck in the rest of your playthrough!

So though there are 2 empty slots on the lower right of the fish farm map, you can't go any deeper?

I can’t unequip my harpoon gun to use my net gun & tranq rifle in the same dive. Something I’m doing wrong?

No - you are doing nothing wrong. The game only allows you to change the second weapon slot. The harpoon gun cannot be swapped out. Therefore, before each dive you must decide which secondary gun you want for that specific dive. Typically, I use the tranquiliser rifle until I have my net gun fully levelled up, then I will use my net gun onwards. However, as you progress, you may be trying to find a specific fish and you will have to choose your gun accordingly.

my mistake was not dispatching my staff to collect ingredients , found out 30days in haha

I am not entirely sure what you mean. However, I think I understand. As far as I know, there is no better way to sort your fish farm than doing each species individually and reserving two of each so that they continue to breed. Hope this helps!

@@Sibuz Oh! The 'Use All Ingredients' button will remove all the fish from that specific fish tank and make them available for use in your restaurant. I recommend manually selecting each species of fish and using all of them except 2-4 so that they continue to breed and create more fish for you. Your farm will be more self-sufficient this way! Generally, you want to keep at least two of each fish type in your farm at all times.

I use kitchen staff too. The most important thing for the kitchen is a high cooking statistic. I was just trying to make the point that you should build your team around your preferences. For example, if you hate pouring drinks, hire staff that will do it for you. I hope this helps!

I just used a controller whilst playing. I use the standard PS4 controller when I am not playing on keyboard and mouse and this is the UI the game gave me!

Yeah, wish the game was clear that adding items to the menu was a permanent decision even before you open for the night, its intensely frustrating putting out one fish only to change your mind and then have to throw all that fish away. Or worse get excited for one of the games special food events, set out a whole ass menu then the game skips you forward to the next day and you are without ingredients for the event because you spent all of them upgrading and filling the menu out.

I agree. It happened to me on multiple occassions too. Honestly though, having spent as much time on the game as I have, all these setbacks are easily overcome in a few in-game days. So, I would try not to get too disheartened. The game is actually quite relaxed and does not penalise you too much for mistakes like that. Hope you are enjoying the game!

Yeah, I'm mostly finished with the game, aside from unlocking/upgrading dishes. Its been fun but slow due to my poor system, game could do with more graphics options than just resolution, and even then more resolution options. But it was incredibly frustrating to have to learn that food waste mechanic the hard way since the game explains it pretty poorly to start with.

I don't find the tranquilizer rifle to be particularly useful. I much prefer just being able to kill the big fish easily, since after you have lifted 3 of them out of the water, you still have to kill them after tranq.

It is all about personal preference. However, I am mainly talking about using the tranquilliser rifle as a means of retrieving 3-star fish - which cannot be done without a tranquilliser gun of some sort!

@@phinqs I seem to find the tranquilizer Harpoon tip almost every dive, so I found no real need to craft the tranquilizer gun before the final Eco-Watch guest.

Another thing to add if you want free Bei just play the shark tooth game with the game master. Lets you have 500 a day

Is a fully upgraded hush dart not as good?

The fully upgraded hush dart is really good for capturing bigger fish, however, it takes a lot of resources to craft. That’s why I recommend the tranquilliser rifle. Also, you won’t be able to do damage to bosses with a hush dart so you just have to bear that in mind!

Gold iirc is -2k so in early game stay at lower rank The last 2 fish farms arnt in the game yet And focus land farm over fish farm imo

Thank you for the tips. It is actually when you upgrade to Platinum that you first incur 2,000 gold operational costs per night. This number increases to 4,000 gold per night at Diamond. I recently covered this in my other tips video!

Tuna are a great option. Also, they are unlocked relatively early in the game. Good choice!

Anyone know if they cut the long kelp from the Switch version?

I cannot say for sure. However, I can say from my own experience that the long kelp biome is quite rare. It is possible that you’ve either missed it when it was available or you have not had it yet. I hope this helps, somewhat!

Yes, you can! However, you cannot get 3-star this way which forces you to use the net gun.

Should I auto cook every dish? Just started the game kind of confused

You are auto-supplying them not cooking them. Basically, you are making those meals available for selection to your customers. I personally auto-supply all of my dishes. The only downside is that some dishes have multiple servings and therefore, it can sometimes be slightly wasteful if you prepare 6 servings for example and only one is bought. Auto-supply is more convenient though, for sure.

@phinqs thanks for the info, thinking about restarting just to get the tutorial down again to be honest. I know you make the menu but then do you select how much of a dish you want or just what is available for purchase?

@@huntshowdown9834 I usually just select a quantity of one, and then turn on auto-supply. Also, the tutorials are not that great at explaining all the available features so restarting won't necessarily help! This game is very relaxed and won't penalise you for taking a few extra days to understand the mechanics so just try to enjoy it.

@@phinqs I don't think so. 'Things I wish I knew' are things you want to know NOW that you do not yet know. I wish I knew German, I wish I knew how to fix my microwave, I wish I knew what was going on, etc. As soon as you reference a point in the past, the 'knew' must also go one step further into the past, becoming 'had known'. So: I wish I had known life would be like this, I wish I had known my degree would be useless, I wish I had known these things sooner. Using 'knew' in the past is a growing trend, I hear people say it on Twitch all the time. They say 'I wish I didn't do that' when what they mean is 'I wish I hadn't done that'. I'm trying to turn the tide by informing people of the difference, but it's slow going.

The auto supply thing is the most important , i just realized that i lost shit ton of gold.

The hush gun is a really good and reliable way to capture 3-star smaller fish. However, I think that the resource requirement to fully upgrade it is quite a lot. Therefore, I recommend a tranquiliser gun of some sort instead. A tranquiliser gun only takes one upgrade and it can tranquilise large fish and sharks straight away. A hush gun will not be able to tranquilise larger fish and sharks until it is fully upgraded! Hope this helps!

Adding on, even for the smaller fish the netgun is just better in every way. Multiple captures in one shot, instant, and you can get crabs and such. The only benefit of the hush dart over the net is that it can eventually tranq big fish, however with its limited ammo its really hard to argue that tiny advantage is worth upgrading it. It feels like its just objectively better to have a tranq upgrade gun, and a net, I've got the dart and I basically never used it after unlocking it 😅

@@Syllaren I agree with pretty much everything said here. When I first started playing the game, I used the hush dart religiously. However, once I started to use the tranquiliser gun and the net gun, I never went back!

I got to they level b4 last level of the sushi bar without going to the village

Yes, as you will waste a lot of ingredients by preparing dishes that customers won't eat! I prefer using auto-supply to keep waste at a minimum whilst not having to put in too much effort.

The thing is (mild spoiler ahead) - absolutely none of this is necessary because there's very little to actually work towards when you're in the second half of the game. The loot is so plentiful you really don't need to work at being efficient at all. I frequently wasted fish by not having them fully used up when on the menu, didn't expand the fish farms or utilise them well - still finished the game with an insane abundance of fish, resources and money. It's a great game but it's extremely flawed in a few aspects, that being the biggest one.

I agree to some extent. It really depends on how much you want to get out of the game. If you just want to complete the main questline then you probably do not need to worry about upgrades. However, if you want to see more of the games additional content then I would say it is fairly important to be efficient. Otherwise, you will probably waste a lot of time gathering resources in the end. Additionally, they are still working on more content too!
