I fought with my ex bestfriend because she had a fake/toxic friend who liked to gossip and spill her secrets to everyone. When I tried to warn her about their relitionship she said "she is the only girl that makes me laugh!". I was offended since all they talk about was stuck in past (talking about past events) and her love interest which I have found out her friend was lying about it too. I certainly dont support their relitionship. For my sake I ended my friendship with her. Because whatever I say she would say it to her friend and that friend would make all the school know it. I left her to protect myself.

I don’t know why I am so desperate for friends like if they are literally mean to mean and I don’t care, is this a problem that I don’t see? I can’t really tell.

I had a fake friend when I was younger and I remember how much she used to make me cry. She only thought about herself and honestly was very rude to me. I don’t know what she’s like now because we were much younger, but I know people CAN change. My current best friend has changed a lot throughout the years, and gotten more mature. She’s better at communicating.

I’ve had a friend since elementary school, and he fit 5/7 of these. Can’t believe I just now realize that he was only using me to go places on bdays, get free or cheap stuff from me, or even go as far to steal and proceed to lie saying that “it was an accident.”

Unfortunately, I've been in this situation since 3-5 months ago.. Number one, two, and the last hit the nail on head! Doesn't make it any easier though. 😢 The good news is that the sun still rises in the morning and life goes on. Their loss, and I hope that they are happy. I have no choice but to be positive and move on for my own sanity and happiness. Great video and it did help me realize something I already knew! I’ve not got one single friend. The old friends I had at school are either passed away or got such different lives that the friendship is negligible anyway. The others I’ve encountered along the way were just hangers on that were self serving or narcissist. Doesn’t bother me one bit. In fact I avoid friendships, I hated having to alter my plans and daily routine to accommodate someone else. I still breathe a sigh of relief when I think about it.

I just ended an old relationship with what I now feel was a toxic relationship this whole time. She always blamed her old dog for why she didn't want me to come over to her apartment and hangout. She always expected me to play the guitar and entertain her whenever she hung out. She's always acted a little bit paranoid and refused to text me her home address claiming that she didn't like the fact that I use Google maps to find new places so I don't get lost. So today I finally had enough of her nonsense and told her I don't need her as a friend if she can't trust me enough. Lastly she always expected me to schedule a time to call/text her. I replied that a normal person doesn't act like you do. Good riddens

This helped me realize that the enemy I have now is more of a friend to me than my old elementary school friend. Thats sad for me because I trusted him so much.

When you talk to him/her about your feelings he/she laughs at you for being "too sensitive" or doesn't acknoledge his/her mistakes is definitely toxic and fake. My friend is a fake friend, she was roasting me and my family and was only speaking about her life, but never my life, so i wanted to tell show her that i got a new purse so when she saw my new purse she said “ omg, i ordered the same purse but different color “ and she never even ordered it. A week passes by and she says look i bought this purse, so i said “ please stop copying my stuff “ she said “ i never even knew u had this purse “ so i told her “i showed u my purse last week and now u magically have it “ and she started bullying me and now she’s not talking to me at all. In my experience, before high school "my friends" were the nicest and the most quiet people in the school, but after middle school, they changed badly. for me a fake is 1. They talk to you like a therapist- whenever I get calls from these people, they go on and on about recapping their daily lives. For example, if your friend complains about a person and you say that this person isn't bad but they go on and on about this person, and once you say "Listen here's what I want you to do" and blah blah blah. But they changed the subject and wanted me to say something about it like what? 2. they never want to be around you for whatever reason- idk if this happens a lot to you guys but whenever you feel like you want to catch up with some old times with your person but whenever you do he says "Listen I'm going to this person just go walk around" or when texting "hey sorry I was texting this person what's up?" and once you respond to the text, they'll take 1-2 days to respond. Sometimes they would not even respond at all. 3. they can't seem to connect with you- a follow-up to 2, so if your friend gives one-word answers to your story or tries to join the conversation, buddy you need new friends. This either doesn't want to hear your pov or they are bored. Like if this person is talking about pizza and you join in their mood suspiciously changes. You deserve better! 4. They throw the meanest insults they have and call it a joke- This one is a classic, The types of friends who make fun of you 24 hours of the day and call it a joke. The reason behind it is they simply want to see you get mad and they find it funny. Other times, it's pure jealousy. But they don't pay for your clothes, rent or raise you. You have nothing to worry about. 5. Too much negative energy- If you see your friends bringing drama (especially in high school) they stop talking about it, they tell it over and over again. This is because they see if you'll be sad and dumb enough to get angry or sad over something that didn't involve you. 6. you feel like you can't tell them anything- Quick story, dated someone in 10th grade and told my friends and they kept suspiciously calling my ex a lot of times at night time. I see my friends sabotaging the relationship, like hugging, calling requests, and inviting you to their house to embarrass you in front of your girl. Again this a pure jealousy, just make sure don't tell them or else they'll do everything in their power to get your girlfriend. 7. They don't notice your achievements. if they do they just simply put you down and make you ashamed of your achievements- I hate pointing out the stuff I achieve because whenever I do I just get put down for no apparent reason. If you say you're fasting and you're heavy you haven't eaten anything for 2 days and once your cravings kick in and start they'll make skinny or fat jokes saying that there's no way you haven't eaten anything or if you're skinny they might be saying like don't eat too much you'll be fat or who are you trying to impress. if this happens then don't say your achievements to these people, keep it to yourself. Bonus: they build a rep around them so that no one can believe you when you call them out- whenever I discover a person's true colors, they'll never care. Because a lot of these know this guy and they either think he's a good guy or they can't speak out or else they'll get a lot worse things than a talk.

To be honest, I have this one friend, I trusted her for 2 years straight. I thought of her as someone I could put my faith in. But recently, I have started to see her true colours. Traitor, and possessive, she manipulated me. I feel like she is not letting me and my friends socialise, she is holding us all in a chokehold. One of my friends, we'll call her Nellie, was trying to make friends with one of my classmates. Guess what, the fake friend didn't like it. She started to throw a tantrum and separated them. When we went on our outstation trip, she crossed the line. She made me feel very uncomfortable. I heard lots of things about her from my classmates. They told me that I could not be friends with her for very long due to her traits. She has every sign of a manipulator that you mentioned in one of your videos. I feel she isolates me and my friends. She brings me down. I can't trust her anymore. I tried to detach myself from her by avoiding eye contact and ignoring her. I even tried to write a friendly letter saying we couldn't be friends anymore, but she kept on approaching me, and I didn't like it. I have been trying to find many ways to show her that I am no longer interested in our friendship, but it never works. She even has a gang kind of thing. They always treat me like I am some kind of cute puppy or a stuffed toy. Everyone in our grade hates her, I know why. She reminds me of Vampire by Olivia Rodrigo. How she mentions about her toxic boyfriend, the fake friend is like that. If I could, I would use every part of the lyrics to describe the fake friend. It's gotten to the point where I want to say swear words in front of her. It's gotten to where I try to act toxic in front of her on purpose. I can say she is a fake friend, and with ample evidence. Its very wise to chose your friends carefully and to have a small group of friends. Thats what i do. I like to have most of my time for myself and i give enough time to my friends too. Its wise to keep people at a distance because everyone is imperfect and some are more imperfect than others.

i’ve been trying to get out of a friendship but i feel like while stalling, i’ve been pretty toxic doing 1, 2, and 4 a bit too often to a particular person. i always just considered it ranting because of how i pent up how i annoyed i was from this person but i’m pretty sure that still counts as talking about others behind their back. hopefully i can distance myself from that person and also better myself. not blaming them completely since my toxicity is pretty much my fault

My gf's best friend does it whenever he sees the opportunity. He knows he has the upper hand because he's the GM of our D&D group. He keeps on calling me out about old stuff I did years ago infront of the whole group, even laughing while doing so. We used to be close but now I don't trust him anymore and have to constantly look out. It's draining. He cares more about his precious game evenings than my mental health.

Imagine being a fake friend - why even bother with the relationship at that point? Edit: 250+ likes in 1 hour - I wasn't trying to get likes, I was just saying that if I didn't like someone, I'd tell them to fuck off, not control them

My “friend” Victoria was the most popular girl in my old school. We were friends for 2 years when she started spreading rumors about me that were not true. My other friends turned on me and I got bullied a lot. It got so bad I ended my friendship with Victoria and my friends who believed it and transferred to a new school. I made new friends who were not backstabbers and life is now great. If you feel like someone is manipulating you, end the relationship now. They’re not worth your time. I've already had fake friends that humilated, bullied me and drained my energy their only goal was to get me to fall for things, flatter me with compliments only to make me feel shitty and worthless. Now I'm healing from narcissistic emotional abuse when Jamal belittled me at my job I didn't know who I was dealing..or what to expect but at least by seeing how manipulators think they only are out to spread criticism and put others down...they sicken me for their fake friendly personalities. Even when I was getting hurt a lot especially cheated on by my ex girlfriend franchine I know who's real and fake...I ain't going back there again I've been embarrassed fooled enough by their lies...they can burn in hell for that shame on them...I've been nothing but generous and kind but I guess that's where I get my kindness taken as a weakness when I trust the wrong people.

i used to have fake friends in fourth grade they were that one group that argued everyday, forced me to pick a side, then the next day they’re besties again because they had some plans that they didn’t even tell me about. literally every day- i think they were just using me because i was good at math and english- they sometimes made me “help” with their schoolwork- (aka i do all the work and even write it down with my own handwriting even though it would be obvious 💀) and they used to bully a kid in my class, just because he was “weird”- that guy became my friend in a year later (though we aren’t friends anymore, because of well, growing up…) now years later i’m in mid school i’m so glad that they made me leave the friend group, now i have four amazing friends that i love :)

I definitely have fake friends, well they're not really my friends because i never really trusted them but what they do isnt nice, talking behind my back, talking trash about me, and "caring" but really not, i know they probably do this to bring themselves up because they probably have some more personal going on but thats still not an excuse for their actions and i my old self could have been deeply hurt.
