2nd one is a bit misleading. I left for another state 3 years ago and hence was unable to meet my friend. We rarely talk like once every 2 months. But when we do, we talk for hours. We share everything, even the most embarrassing thing like old times. We trust each other a lot. We both are busy with our lives but if anyone of us decides to initiate a chat, the other doesn't hold back. Both of us have found new best friends but we can't ever forget each other. It's complicated I know but we're far from letting each other go.

@@sinister2423 agreed. My bff for over 6 years is a grade above me. So when she gets time (which is once a week usually a weekend.) We talk our hearts out and it feels like there was never a time gap. Even my ldbff. We've been bff's for 2 years. And we have a rule (due to circumstances) that we only get to talk on sundays. And boi do we utilize it. Every goodbye feels heartbreaking but the hello the next sunday makes it all worth it.

I once had a really close best friend, but like this video, I had to let her go. We had become distant and when we did talk, it was fights. It was still hard though. To whoever needs to hear it, it’s all right to let go of that friend. It may hurt at first, but it’s better than constant pain from trying to keep it together

My best friend, who I only met 4 years ago when we were both 9, and I hit off really well instantly. We were never more than friends, but we were really close, and we both really enjoyed each other's company. But recently, she just randomly became distant, and it's gotten to the point of coldness. This video made me overwhelmingly sad, but also allowed me to consider the situation deeper. I also write songs, and I have A LOT, but I've been feeling held back, but after watching this video, I am able to write about it in song form. It feels good, but also really really sad.

I stopped talking to my best friend of 10 years 1 year ago and this is kind of helping me let go. Ty for helping me feel a bit better!

I thanked my friend of almost 50 years then bid adieu some weeks ago. I have undergone some major life changes in the past few years, this necessitating some recent changes, which they disapproved of. That was a moment of disappointment. I thought I could always trust this person to be supportive and then suddenly I couldn't feel that any more, despite having been there for them through so many crisis over the years. The loss is still quite painful, and beyond that, I feel that I might never have another friendship like that again, because I no longer feel that we truly know any one.

I let go of my bestie of 42 years in February. We had been through so much together and were always there for each other. My dad died last December and she couldn’t be bothered to come and see me, and my son reminded me that it had been over 4 years since she had visited me. It was always me going to her, I’m slightly disabled and it’s a bit of a drive. She had surgery to remove large benign cysts from her ovaries and I took my own shower chair for her to use at home and went to stay for a week to help look after her through the day. This was last June 2022, and I have a carer myself. I sent her a message telling her that I didn’t want her to contact me anymore. And it hurt to do that. We had been besties for 2/3 of my life, her kids are family to us. But she just didn’t want to bother and to be there for me as I was for her last year. So that’s it. Never had the decency to return my shower chair either, I had to get another. Said all I needed to know about her. Her oldest and dearest friend she called me, what a joke. Bye Jan.

Same had a kindergarten friend been few years had to cut few "friends" out my life. Learned that at 35 not everyone is a "friend" best decision I could have done. It has been hell but being on your own means less issues. We become dependent unfortunately.

I just lost my friend and found out she was fake now she left me for other friends and she is wishing me not to make new friends and get out if her life

it hurts when you feel like your close/best friend is replacing you with someone else but you know you cant do anything about it. Update if anyone cares: the person i made this comment about still talks to me and still friends

Same my best friend and me have the same friend group and one weekend she any everyone else was invited to this girls house and I wasn’t their excuse was I was and you didn’t answer Their text to invite me was “hey girl” like come on like am I not supposed to be mad And when I confront them about it they brush it off or make it seem like I’m overreacting Please comment some advice should I just drop them

The worse case scenario is that, your BESTFRIEND was your childhood friend. Whenever you think of your past especially your childhood and that BESTFRIEND was always there in your memories. That BESTFRIEND is always present in ur memorable moments. I'd say, it FVCK!NG HURTS SO MUCH! Much hurt than losing your bf/gf. Imagine after decades of friendship, it just suddenly snapped and "IT'S OVER." Remember, aside from ur family, Friendship is the second relationship we have after our families or relatives. So yes, losing your Bestie hurts more than losing your BF/GF.

i always thought that my bestie and i would be best friends forever, but ever since the start of year 7, we just grew apart, not to mention that she's really flighty, and we only hang out when SHE wants to, or when SHE'S free, and i've been wondering if maybe its time to let go, and this video confirms it. Thank you.

The worst thing is the sacrifice, time, money, and it all got invested into nothing in the end. Best friend for 12 years and it's just so over.

I stopped having a "best friend" when I realized that they'll just leave you in the end anyways, people don't stick around forever.

same thing is happening to me right now. My best friend got a boyfriend two months ago and i’m happy for her. But when I went to see her a few weeks ago I begged her not to go to to a practice that she didn’t have to go to. She just wanted to spend more time with her boyfriend and told me straight to my face that she had nothing better to do even though they were seeing each other again the same night and I live 30 minutes away so I only see her a few times a year. Then she invited me somewhere, never gave me the details and went with her boyfriend instead. It’s truly the worst feeling

Yes this is me!! Especially on holidays. Birthdays etc. but when they see me living my life & moving on, they want to know why I didn’t include them… we deserve so much more so I’m cutting those people loose, grieving/healing & find people that want me just as much as I want them..

I tried talking to her about it last week but she kept dodging my calls and never texted me back. I haven’t even been referring to her as my best friend anymore lately. I hope things are reconciled for you eventually love I’ve made peace with the fact that she probably won’t be a part of my life anymore :(

how can they do that so easily?? why do people can easily forget the person that shared their lives for a long time? just because they have busy schedules? a lot of work to do? have a family? have kids? no!!!! thats not a valid excuses! have seen these kind of people with busy lifestyle but still can manage to meet their friends even in short time! the reason is its either you found another friend, you replace so easily! or you're in a relationship and you just set aside your dearest friend for a new person of your life or worst you don't value your friendship anymore!!! those kind of people disgust me! because they don't know how it hurst so much!!!

My former best friend abruptly told me that we had nothing in common anymore, but wasn't specific until years later. Turns out it was over having children and I guess she thought that I was anti children.. What she didn't know was that I am infertile, When she recently attempted to return to my life it was only then that she told me about the children issue, not when she broke off our friendship. I then told her about my lack of ability to have kids, and she regretted her decision from the past and wanted to come back into my life. My guard is up around her now and I'm the one walking away. Probably for the best, I don't want to hurt again. I made my peace with our initial break up and you know the old phrase "you can't go home again"

That's so terrible when our special people start evolving to be strangers....

I use to have lots of friends but I ended my relationship with my friends because it’s really hard 🥺😭💔and I will never make friends again

I’ve had a best friend since 10 years now… Lately tho she stared hanging out with a girl who is an absolute bad influence on her and since then I feel distanced to her… Even tho she sometimes wants to talk with me and do stuff with me, she still chooses the fake friend over me for most things… I have experienced every point stared out in this video…

I've known this friend for over 14 years. All of a sudden, anything I say to her becomes an argument. Even when I ask about the ingredients in her purchased ingredients. She starts to swear in public and acts like a kid. She stops calling me all of a sudden which was a huge favor for me because I did not know to end the friendship. So, thank you fir not talking to me any more

The problem with me and my friend is that we have too much in common - we do pretty much everything together. We have arguments pretty much everyday, and although we apologise it’s like putting a poster over a hole in the wall. But we can’t just STOP being friends because we’re in the same clubs together and we take the train to school together. We’ll always have to stay friends no matter what. I don’t know if this is just me, but I sometimes get feelings of “If I don’t have ___, then who do I have?” Not trying to trauma vom, just share my thoughts.

I have all of those problems but when i heard the last one realised this video is actually right and that it was a good choice to watch this amazing video and this should be known worldwide

The worst part is when you lose a best friend because they can’t see why they’re so toxic.

@@anessamartinez5828 For me, it was over 6 months, but they tried to contact me again some days ago, they only wanted to use me again as i expected, so it brought all those past feelings back to hit me in the gut. Luckily, it all passed pretty fast and i reassured myself, reminding of why i ended the friendship in the first place

I recently let go of my best friend and it all started when he moved to a different country. He found a new best friend in his newfound country with his parents and he started playing with him the same amount of time as we used to play when he was still in my country. Then he stopped texting me as often and calling me. My usual schedule was wake up, eat breakfast and play with my friend all day long, but when he got his new friend he started playing with him on the daily. I understood that the timezones with a little bit different like an hour difference, but that wasn't the answer. He started playing a new game with his NEW friend and left me behind. I struggled to keep this friendship on and i just gave up. It wasn't worth keeping this friendship alive because i was the only one keeping it still, like building blocks. The moment i gave up on my best friend made the boulder get off of me. But there came another problem which is still relevant to this day. I am very shy and can't make new friend all of the sudden. I want friends like my old best friend, i am doubting that if i even can make a new friend like him. And now I'm lonely, without a sibling to play with because I'm was a single child and no one to play with. I don't want virtual friends, i want real friends but i can't make new friends because im shy. being on the computer just feels like wasting time on playing games and torturing my mind.

I agree. Im choosing to end a long term friendship. I haven't seen this friend in almost 8yrs and we live in the same general area. The person feels like texting is a way to keep our friendship going but all I ever get are depressing and sad things in their life. I chose to end the friendship bcus as much as I have put in, I get a bunch of lies and false perceptions of what they want me to feel their going thru. I feel like now at my age I am mature enough to let go of Fake pple that dnt really care about the contact or effort to keep a real friendship alive.

When you realize your best friend has become someone you don’t recognize anymore, it’s time to let go.

Reality isn't always like that. There no such thing as absolutely cutting all ties with friends. You can drift apart, meet up again. Be friends all your life and never seperate. Hell, you can even kill your friend in a crime of passion. Think about every friendship that has happened across all of human history. Every relationship I've ended is because I started overthinking things and I ended up tearing down my support system. The best thing to do with friendship is to let it happen. Don't overthink it or play into your parnoia.

@@user-xy3rz9hc7b I don't know who you are, but I think if a so called "friend" shares your secrets then that person is toxic and you should let go, I personally haven't let go of a friend yet but the moment you realize that you deserve something or someone better is the moment you can finally let someone go. I think the best way to let go is to just let it happen naturally, like stop texting or ignore that person the same way that person ignores you.

A year and a half after a huge huge break of trust with my friend I’ve tried and tried to keep us friends but it’s been so hard in the past months to keep being best friends we’ve has 7 disagreements in the past 3 months all have just ended with me feeling empty and there’s no sorry my friend just kinda acts like it didn’t happen I feel so wrong with her and this video helps me a lot also with being scared that she’ll be mad I’m so glad I found this channel

Used to go to his place when i was younger. Have always had a rocky relationship with my mother and everytime i felt scared or hurt I'd go to his place and his family welcomed me over ALWAYS. I could sleep over at their place and my mother would come the next day to come get me. This cycle went on for over 10 years. This friend has been an integral part of my upbringing. He and his family will forever hold a special place in my heart no matter what. They made a hellish childhood infinitely brighter. I owe them everything

Two years ago I watched this video thinking « Lol it’s not time that we break our friendship at all, then! We’re still besties » but in the last year… She became a whole new person… We share literally no interests anymore and we never text and I keep on telling her when we speak our friendship doesn’t seem to be working anymore and each time she says it’s all gonna be solved but it’s clearly not for now… She went from a gamer and anime lover and long hair to rock n roll, short hair and no more video games, only social media…

It hurts to know the best friend you’ve always had a bold bond with is slowly drifting away... especially when they have been with you for more that 6 years
