The part about "The People," I think you've just described the difference between real-world vs. the internet. Reddit, Facebook, KZread comments, and any social media/internet platform seems to lock-in and bring out the absolute worst in people. I think it must be, because most people who have a descent and fulfilling life don't take or have the time to read and respond to people online. Only people who are prone to negative emotion tend to spend more time and energy online (due to lack of a real-world life). In other words, if you have 10 human interactions in the real-world, only 1 of the 10 will be negative. But if you have 10 human interactions online, I imagine 4-5 will be negative. And since we all tend to focus on and be more affected by negative interactions... yeah... just try to remember that the internet isn't a real place. Love your videos!!!

As a native, I definitely know why some natives are so hostile towards those who move here from the northeast and west coast. For starters, this is by no means everyone from these regions, but enough that it made a lot of natives very resentful. Many moved here from those regions in the 80's/90's and tried to change the political climate here. They didn't even try to acclimate or respect our culture. Many would openly make very disparaging remarks, stupid and untrue stereotypes that they had seen in tv shows and movies their whole lives about the South, and act as if we are all Jethro Bodine on the Beverly Hillbillies. I even had someone about 5-10 years ago from NYC (which is VERY different from the rest of NY state) say outsiders needed to move here to help, and I quote, "civilize us" and "change our racist ways". Then they would whine that natives hated newcomers. Totally messed up. I'll just say the guy got an earful from me, lol. These days, newcomers from other regions seem to be much more respectful of us and don't come here to try to change us. That will get a much better reaction, I promise you. Now, this is just the reason why this happens, I'm by no means justifying anyone who labeled everyone not from here as someone bad. That isn't fair. My explanation is just to give context. As a Southerner who worked for Barclays Bank when they relocated to Charlotte from NYC in the late 80's and heard firsthand the remarks and attitudes from NYers (1/3 relocated from NYC, the other 2/3 of us were locals) and also hearing the lousy remarks some Southerners unfairly labeled newbies without getting to know them first, there was plenty of blame to on both sides. Those who call you guys "yankees" or other disparaging words are jerks. Today, if anyone moves here who will respect our southern culture, acclimate to the area without trying to "change" us, and not bring the failed voting habits that screwed up where they're fleeing from with them, they will be accepted by nearly everyone. Great video. Thanks for posting.

I am a native Floridian, grew up on the east coast. We moved to a small town in Central Florida to escape the madness. Long story short, I was called a yankee because I'm from the city. Very annoying. Most people here are from up north but we still hear hate for new Yorkers big time. It's too bad you guys get a bad rap but it happens here too, a lot. Even to natives!! Lol doesn't make sense.

You hit the nail right on your own head...people need to educate themselves about the area they move to, out of respect. Make an effort to learn the history and customs of wherever you move to. Here's an example: it is considered rude to use the F-word in conversation out in public , such as in a restaurant. Thank you for being part of the discussion.

Amen, the problem is people want to relocate here for all of the respect and culture but then never lose their attitudes. I was listening to another realtor in public talk bad about her clients "calling them F***ing stupid" and I'm thinking to myself "Wow, not only is this unethical but just a shitty person all around" The crazy part is she was from another state and she's calling people moving here "f**king stupid?" You really have to be careful now a days. People are always listening.

I’m married to a New Yorker and he used to make fun of me since I’m not born in the states (all for fun) then we moved to Texas and he jokes about it in a restaurant and the lady said to my husband you are just as an alien a implant 😂😂
