7. The Rise of Islam and St. Boniface

The religion founded by Mohammed spread rapidly during the seventh century, finally reaching Spain and threatening Christian Europe and the Frankish kingdom. At the Battle of Tours, the Christian leader, Charles Martel, withstood the invasion and pushed the Islamic forces back into Spain where they remained for several hundred years. At about the same time, the missionary Boniface brought the gospel to Frisia and Saxony, regions of Gaul as yet untouched by the good news of Christ, and the same Charles Martel provided sustained support for Boniface's ministry for many years. @@mohammedalsubiei7593the spread of is Islam is fascinating, and the way Christianity was spread by some is disgusting. However, you cannot compare the crusades or inquisition to the wars and bloodshed done in the name of Islam. As Christians we pride ourselves by with the difference we make in the world; Christianity ended slavery everywhere it went, Mohammad traded and owned many slaves. Christianity ended polygamy everywhere it went, Mohammad promoted polygamy. Christianity ended child marriage everywhere it went, Mohammad married a child😬. Christianity spread literacy everywhere it went, Mohammad himself was illiterate and his followers didn't want anyone to be literate, for example the ottomans banned the printing press.

I have just discovered your KZread classes, and just finished this one. I will be watching everything, starting from the beginning- and will be inviting others to enjoy your excellent teaching! Saint Boniface is of interest to me, and is how this video appeared in my feed. I grew up in Winnipeg, a city with an historic section (once a city of it's own, but now a borough) called St. Boniface. It was this Winnipeg area I actually searching for on KZread (tourist info), once I saw your video in my feed, I was interested because I have never given much thought of how this historic city in Canadian history got it's name. In full, this information has given me much insight into history in general- and present fights to destroy it. As such, the current BLM riots are much more about destroying Christian history, than the 'racial' issue of which they hide. BLM is deeply connected to Islam (Google it). If Columbus was sent out during the time of Europe's fight against Islamic colonalism, than perhaps it's of no accident that it is him of whom the Islamic BLM seek to remove from history?

... Just like you said.."if you want to read it, read it in Arabic.". I'm finding that to be true with the Bible too. There is so much "assumption" in the translation of the languages, I'm finding there is a huge difference at times from exactly what it says to what is commonly taught or accepted. I'm kind of glad for it in a way, as if it were 100% accurate, people who don't agree or believe, wouldn't have a reason to give it a second look. Perfectly imperfect.

thoroughly enjoyed all your videos on here! I have been slowly watching them all! One of the many mysteries in life is why @Bruce Gore (ok right now New Year's Eve 2020) has fewer than 30k subscriptions. It's kind of funny. I'm forwarding a lot of people to your videos! Especially to your preterist approach to revelation! That was it that won me over! Its a massive game changer! I'm pointing out a lot of snake oil (that is postmillennialism) and forwarding them on! to you! I'm just at a pass when I totally don't get what is going on with the mainstream view on protestant Christianity.! Its totally bonkers! I just don't know how I didn't see all this before! I feel that everyone needs to wake up.. it feels like I'm the crazy one.. but in reality its everyone else! I'm predicting there is going to be a massive movement heading your way!! Anyways a big test for me that you passed the whole mount Ararat location and where Moses actually passed! (you got that one right).. this kind of cemented me to you. Anyways.. the whole Islam thing.. I've been studying it for over a year now.. on this one topic at least you need to brush up on. Islam is basically built on a house of cards. You need to follow people like Jay Smith. Hes bringing new things all the time on the evidence. The directional prayer location for most early Islamic mosques was way north.. pointing to Petra. Early trade routes never went through Mecca. Pretty much Mecca and Mohammed names weren't mentioned anywhere for the first 200 years of islam. rock inscriptions anywhere in the Arabian peninsula from 600-800 ad mentioned nothing about a Mohammed.

You skipped every major details in the history. Another major thing was treaty of mecca. Muslim caliphs were very tolerant & devoted leaders, in fact there was a time when caliph lost a case in court against a jew. Islam spread with sword? What books you have been reading? Mohamed was not illiterate nor violent. The main enemies of Mohamed were Muslims themselves who wanted to use the religion to gain power and wealth. He got poisoned by his own wife who helped her father to grab the power right after the death of Mohamed. The only child of Mohamed, his daughter, got killed 6 months later. These so called Muslims immediately started to create a military indoctrination system and a legal system which would help them to impose their power on other tribes and nations. Many civil wars have also occurred within the Islamic world between the early Muslims who wanted to protect the values of Mohamed against the Arabic elites who wanted to push through a violent oppressive system. I see fear to face the reality of Islam on the presenter (not to diminish, this presenter is really really good, but I noticed this little thing when talking about Islam). The reason the fundamentalists always win over moderates is because Islam born from violance, born as a political tool of dominance using apparentelly good values. Moderates, depise their good will to reform Islam, werent able to do that because they would have to change a lot of things on the Quoran and the other sacred texts. Yes, Christianity can be used as a tool of domination, but its way more difficult to do that. And from time to time appears some Saint to remember everybody that they are doing it wrong. Nowadays, people took some parts of Christianity to better create a tool of domination. I see the Woke religion as the pinacle of that. Maybe thats the reason they are so eager to defend Islam, they see themselves on that.

Very good lecture mostly correct I have a couple corrections In regards to the conquest of Mecca it is important to note that the Meccans at the time where also initiating attacks and that it went both ways. The people from Medina trying to dominate those from Mecca and vice versa. Also it is important to point out that jihad does not exclusively mean holy war. The literal meaning is struggle and it can be an inward struggle or an outward struggle. The inward struggle is the abstinence from sin which as we all know requires hard work and dedication. The outward one can be interpreted as a fight in a just war. The rapid expansion of Islam from Arabia was due to the political and military involvement by the companions of the Prophet. Also we have to be frank and understand the time that this took place, both Persia and Bysantium weren't egar to see a new power emerge in their neighbourhood. Also Muslims did dominate India but not immediately. The Mughal empire before the British was ruling majority of India at that time. That is all thanks for reading

You forgot to mention that the Arabs had an easy game to expand because the byzantines and Persians got weakened from fighting each other. Also most of their population welcomed the Muslims because the Byzantines collected very high taxes from the nonorthodox oriental Christians as they saw them heretic.

Since this broadcast, so much scholarship has been produced. To summarize: this is the traditional view, the story, narrative. Problem: It is ALL from 100-200 years after the fact. There is a complete dearth of evidence (manuscripts, coins, maps, even rock inscriptions) from the 7th century. The historicity of the man is being questioned as his 'name' may have been a title. The details of his life are are redacted from centuries later. Historic evidence points to events much further North, and Mecca, which claims to go back to Adam and Eve cannot even be found on contemporary trade route maps. The three pillars of Islam, the man, the book and the city (under which NO archeological evidence has been found) appears to be crumbling under contemporary scrutiny. These critiques can now be found all over youtube on a variety of channels.

I Albanian I’m the first son of the first son all the way to 1440 to my great ancestor Frrok 21 names. That warrior and his generation are the people who stopped the ottomans at their all time military peak from taking taking Italy. My ancestor started the blood lineage from him cause his wife was Muslim got her after robbed and killed her husband and culturally had to take her with him. That was said for you to get a prospective of my identity. No I’ve looked at the Abrahamic religions and at their core they have the same message. But your depiction of the Muslim as the aggressors of religious imposition I think you know it’s not correct. Mohamed a.s said in his saying ( Hadith) you have your religion and I have mine. His own uncle didn’t accept Islam coming from him direct so only god can open a person heart no isis or any other terrorist devils and those simple people who they manipulate with that poison. This is truly meant as a positive suggestive advice and wish you all the best.

@@P.H.888Mohamed was not illiterate nor violent. Unfortunately the latter won and have corrupted islam.

Brother islam is the fourth kingdom. Look at Isaiah 19 Ezekiel 30 Ezekiel 38-39. Even your antiochus fits the foreshadow more than any other Roman did. Genesis 3:15 ishmael is mohammeds descendant. It only mirrors what is coming. That stone crushing the first 3 all at the same time how can that be if it's rome. Where is babylon today ? Where is persia ? Who would be more in league with them islam or rome ? It isn't rome. It stays in the east.

Read Sahih al-Bukhari 3366. Muhammad said that the Kaaba and Solomon's Temple were built 40 years apart from each other. Solomon's Temple was built in the 10th century BC and Abraham lived around 1000 years before Solomon. Muhammad had no idea what he was talking about and there is zero evidence that Abraham built the Kaaba.

I will mention only one point so far that Muhammad and those who embraced Islam from the people of Mecca were forced to leave and seize their money and they were being tortured. Some were killed under torture and the Prophet Muhammad tried to kill him as well and his uncle protected him until he died. He went out after the death of his uncle saying the attack on the caravan for no reason. The caravan belonged to those people who left Mecca, and their money was the caravan. The Quraish stole all their money, in addition to expelling them, they became living poor in the Madinah, and they were rich in Mecca only because they converted to Islam. Then the Quraish decided to prepare an army and attack the Madinah. Muhammad and his followers in the Madinah decided to bring out an army as well and fight
