    I am 92 and after learning the benefits of taurine, I ordered and received my first supply. I will take one to two 1000 mg tablets between meals, as recommended. This regimen will go along with my 20 minutes of California sun each day, now done after removing my socks and shoes so that I can ground myself. I have not one medical prescription so far, and I hope to keep it that way. Subscribe if you'd like to follow along. There's still a lot to be learned.

    I've read all the official longevity studies on taurine and in order to get the max life extension benefits, you need to take a lot more than the recommended serving. Men need between 6 to 10 grams and woman need between 4 to 8 grams, taken on an empty stomach, daily.

I have so much energy and recover so much faster from exercise. My shoulders would chronically hurt at night but now gone. Actually while watching your video I realised the cracking sounds in my many times broken wrists have disappeared! My body just ate this stuff up. One to three grams per day depending on exercise

Glycine has been da boom. My goal is to be below the gout levels but more importantly below the hypertension levels of 5.5mg… meat isn’t my issue but there’s been surprises from intense exercise. I had crippling migraines. Was always looking for ways to relieve them and one day I am reading an article on migraines and way down at the end was a little sentence that changed my life. It said, and some people find a regime of taurine, an amino acid, can bring some relief. Well I got some taurine, started taking 4,000 mg a day and if I did start to have one, take 5,000. I might still have auras but it passes way more quickly and the following headache is way reduced. After a few years I don’t even take the daily dose anymore but I have it on me constantly. My headaches went from severe, couple times a month or more to maybe two or three a year with massive pain reduction.

    Taurine is something I'd never heard of until a couple of months ago. I have been taking taurine powder each day mostly as a preventative so I cannot report its effectiveness on anything but I can let others know how simple and easy it is.. It does not taste bad or strange. Its a bit like instant milk powder. If you buy a larger container of it online it can be very reasonable and the scoop for a serving is really small like a single M&M Peanut. If Taurine does half of what this video suggests it does it is worth everyone taking it I would think. But in addition to all that Taurine does I would also highly suggest a grounding/earthing pillowcase or mat. This sounds really "Out There" but I have found my silver thread pillowcase to be amazing for inflammation and pain management when I had no Idea it would help with these issues. Read up on Grounding/Earthing and believe the claims because it is amazing.

    Good presentation but I did notice the bit you slipped in namely "debunking the myth that it's sourced from animals". The fact that it's now synthesised does not "debunk the myth that it's sourced from animals". As a matter of fact, taurine can be found in higher concentration in animal-based food. All the essential amino acids can actually be found in the right concentration and bioavailable form from animal-based food. The same applies to choline (an important methyl group donor just like B12 critical for biochemical reactions/neurological functions), DHA, EPA (omega3 fatty acids essential for membrane integrity and neurological function/cell signalling/brain health), methionine, lysine, and leucine (rate limiting with regards to protein synthesis/mTOR cascade). Although I do appreciate that it's up to people to opt for diet that suits them, it is also important to clearly be honest about the fact that not all diets are equal from a purely scientific/nutritional perspective. I'm not saying that's necessarily the case here but I certainly tend to notice those few "slips" quite often on some channels whereby the benefits of an animal-based diet tend to be trivialised possibly due to a certain level of bias. As a clinical/research scientist myself who is very active about promoting a more species-specific diet, such nuances matter enormously particularly in the context of the persistent decline in metabolic health globally. Some types of diets come with drawbacks that cannot always be managed even through supplementation long term. Supplementation in general is never the best option as that comes with it's own set of issues beyond the scope of that quick comment. The point is, it can be very difficult for most people to "supplement" themselves adequately and efficiently particularly with regards to cost, absorption/bio-availability. It's important to stress on that while also letting people decide what works best for them.

  • @HealthyHerbHub

    @HealthyHerbHub

    Thank you for your insightful comment and for emphasizing the importance of understanding where nutrients like taurine come from. You're absolutely right that taurine naturally occurs in higher concentrations in animal-based foods, and that many essential nutrients are readily available in animal products in bioavailable forms. When I mentioned 'debunking the myth,' it was specifically in reference to taurine supplements on the market today, which are synthetically produced and not sourced from animals. The aim was to address a common misconception about taurine supplements, not to trivialize the nutritional value of an animal-based diet or suggest that one diet fits all. Regarding the broader discussion of diets and supplementation, I completely agree that supplementation generally cannot match the complexity and balance of nutrients found in whole foods. The video was focused on taurine supplementation, particularly in contexts where dietary intake might not meet individual needs, or for those who choose diets that naturally have lower levels of taurine. My intention is never to tell people what to do or what to eat, but rather to provide information that helps them make informed choices based on their health needs, ethical considerations, and personal preferences. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge and views!

    @@youbeever I thought the same thing. But maybe the anti-meat people are just as responsible on the consumer end as they are on the control the institutional narrative end. Consider the no-meat Mondays in public schools, and other government food programs that specifically source only from plant based foods. I'm curious....Is it being considered as part of Amino Acid treatments for autisum? Since Taurine is a precursor to GABA, should I refrain from taking GABA ? I suffer from various forms of nerve pain from stenosis and other spinal maladies as numerous disc bulges and degereative Disk Disease (DDD), dextroscoliosis, Spondyliosis in my spine throughout. Fibromyalgia has been diagnosed from the Chronic pains and stiffness for decades. I'm 72 yo, male, retired. I just began to take Taurine this week, in the hope of finding "relief" and freedom of the constant chronic pains / and the terrible Stiffness. The Peripheral and Central Nervous systems have been affected. I'm also very interest in Glycine - which has come to the public eye for health benefits. THX for the Video.

    Yes, taurine is currently being explored as a potential treatment option for autism. There is ongoing research investigating its effects on neurological development and cognitive function, which are areas often affected in individuals with autism. Your question about whether to take GABA supplements alongside taurine, given that taurine is a precursor to GABA, is a good one. While taurine impacts GABAergic pathways in the brain, it is not a direct precursor to GABA. Instead, taurine can enhance the activity of GABA receptors and has similar calming effects, but it doesn't convert directly into GABA in the body. Taking taurine and GABA together isn't inherently harmful, but their combined effects on your body can vary. It's important to consider factors like the reason for taking these supplements, the doses involved, and your overall health. Have you noticed any difference while taking taurine so far? Hope you will feel better soon!

    @chiroman527. I have spondylolisthesis and have gone to therapy for it. Stretching! Stretching is a miracle worker and much underutilized. I have put into remission spondylolisthesis and piriformis syndrome (similar to sciatic pain) through stretching! You must know what stretches to avoid though so as not to make matters worse. Stretching can make you feel decades younger! It's just such a simple remedy that people don't believe it's effectiveness. Get a therapist to learn what to do and then just continue on your own at home. No drugs needed! No more stiffness! :)

    I'd forget about testosterone suppression, you'll feel so bad if you do that + potentially cause other issues for your self too, such as brain fog, loss if libido, loss of body hair, depression and many more negative things. Ingestion of cayenne pepper has been linked to suppressing prostate cancer and in some cases eliminating it. Do your own research into this as it's a better idea than tanking your testosterone. The only way to counteract negative side-effects of low testosterone is to increase testosterone, so it's a pointless exercise, that will cause more problems.. Try cayenne, try a ketogenic diet, avoid sugars as much as possible. I wish you luck in your journey and hope you become cancer free.

These terms are often used to make the topic more accessible to a wider audience who might not be familiar with the specifics of cholesterol and its transport mechanisms. @@bunchie1966 Indeed, there's only one type of cholesterol molecule. The terms 'good' and 'bad' cholesterol commonly refer to the lipoproteins that transport cholesterol in the blood, not different types of cholesterol itself. HDL is often termed 'good' because it carries cholesterol to the liver for removal, while LDL, commonly known as 'bad,' carries cholesterol to tissues, which can lead to plaque build-up in arteries. I hope this helps clarify the distinction.
