Fair enough, but I know I'm much better at sourcing now than I was 10 years ago, so I feel experience is very important in this game especially when there are a lot potential areas for things to go wrong. But by all means if you are a new sourcing agent and you are talented I'm sure you'll do very well and more power to you 👊

Can be similar but a company will always be safer. Best thing you can do is ask around other sellers to see who has an agent they recommend :)

Hi Kian, If i have a somewhat unique product that has a design IP (not a utility one) - how can I keep it confidential with Chinese manufacturers. it seems once a produce is made at one manufacturers its easily replicated across many. And i dont want what that to happen till ive establish scale and a brand. thanks

getting criticized = you are getting noticed. Nothing wrong with that especially if you are in the limelight.

Amazon will require invoices to verify the authenticity of your product and since most sourcing agencies/agents don't show the factories details on the invoice & amazon won't be able to verify the invoice being genuine. I this will likely result in a ban on amazon, how would we get around this?

5 years experience? Isn’t it unfair with the people who are new into sourcing industry?

It's still ok to work with someone with less than 5 years but experience is very important in this game as there's 0 margin for error, so if less than 5 years you have to have references and evidence of other companies they've worked for that proves they are capable of delivering to a high standard.

If people say they don’t like your hat it’s good publicity, when they say nothing you’re just average

note** 1. individual or sourcing company. better to deal with a company. pay the factory, dont pay individuals. 2. how many years of experience. ideally 10 years +. check references. 3. you definitely want a direct line of communication with the factory. know where your products are coming from. pay the factory. 4. ask which product categories does the agent specialize in. get an agent in your niche. where is the agency located relative to production. are they qualified to do certification. 5. how does the agent get paid for their work. upfront fee, or commission on order size. know in advance. ask if the agent is getting paid by the factory. 6. know the services offered by the agency. do they help with shipping. or purely sourcing. who's responsibility is returns/defects/poor quality. 7. what criteria does the agency use for selecting factories.

i mean the idea of working only with the older agents/company is wrong, some times new sourcing agents or company wd do more efficient job than old one since they are working for their business reputation and dont forget that all the biggest sourcing companies now were a small starter once

@@saadallahseghiro6165 yeah fair comment, everyone needs to start somewhere and the market will decide how good you are once you have done a few projects. I only give that point of view though because everyone makes mistakes at some point when sourcing, so the older ones will have more experience to lean on, but that doesn't mean beginners cant do a good job! Appreciate your feedback
