Glad it was helpful! Building relationships is one of the most important things you can do, however it's still ok to do this while working with a sourcing agent so long as they reveal to you who the factory information to allow you to have a direct line of communication! 🙏

Sourcing with Kian I’m actually new into sourcing, it’s my first year. One tricky question, What if as a sourcing agent you find your client their target price and still you are keeping mark up, is it good or bad?

What do you think about hiring a Chinese sourcing agent from UpWork to do research on who manufacturers your product (if you can't readily find your product) and then contact the manufacturers yourself?

Thanks for the kind feedback! I think you should try both, try it yourself through Alibaba (I have a video on that too - kzread.info/dash/bejne/loKWzqqkldGcosY.html ) and also hire a sourcing agent to do your initial research and see who comes back with better products and pricing and then make a decision. You can choose to hire or pay the sourcing agent if they manage to get better prices than you can, if not you just go through the process yourself, hope that helps 🙏

What about if you hire a sourcing agent freelancer or a company to prepare you a list of factories that have best price and good quality ? I think that should work ! so the service i give them is i need a list of factory names, prices with quality standards and contacts to discuss further from my side with them.

Hey Abdul, that's a good idea if the sourcing agent agrees to do it but they will most likely want a high up front cost in order to do this work then the plus side is that you don't need to pay them a commission after the order is placed. But you have to trust that they have introduced you to good factories!

Hello, thanks for the video. Good information. Im a subscriber on your KZread. Im a newbie to Amazon. I have a question? i need to send in 1,100 to 1,200 units to Amazon, so how many pieces will that equal to. if i start selling sports socks-(pair-2 socks). If there are 1,800 pieces it will be - 900 pairs. A little confusing-with -(units, set, )

Hi Carrie, thanks for your support! Best to check it with someone at support with Amazon buy my understanding is that if you are selling a pair which is 2 socks that will be considered one unit as the a pair must go together, you can't sell a sock individually 😀

You mentioned if we can't talk to the factory worker- who will be producing our products, we should not be working with this sourcing agent. I don't want to put their name out. Kian, I have been sourcing some products of famous brands like DJI from China to Dubai. Most of the times price would be the same as in Dubai. How is this possible that price difference is not much between China and Dubai?

Hey Malik, for famous brands my guess is that they have universal pricing on their products, for example an iPhone should cost the same in UK as it does in USA and China.

Definitely building your relationships, all the best outcomes that come from sourcing products from China stem from the relationships you have built with your manufacturers, this could be better pricing, introduction to new products, better credit terms, faster delivery times and so much more!

Hi.David. basicly sourcing agent has good relationship with manufacturer.

Here is a legitimate question I have. Most of my contacts with Alibaba suppliers are duds because 1) I do not know if the person I am speaking with really represents a manufacturer or a trading company. I basically only have about $100K total I could invest in PL, and NOT all IN ONE PLACE. Can I even afford a product sourcer? Is my capital enough to get through the muck that sourcing from China seems to me to be. I cannot afford the sources my mentors have, as they are looking for $200K or more single orders? Should I punt on this venture, or is there another solution. I am frustrated by one project I began to work on that a larger seller was also working on. Not really in a happy place at this moment. What should I do?

Man, gotta say, being Brazilian and therefore not being ripped off as much buy chinese agents/manufacturers. 100k is more then enough to start. 20k is enough to get a full container of miscellaneous products to sea. 200k or nothing is insane.

Can’t you ask your sourcing agent to find suppliers but then you develop their relationship with your suppliers?
