Hey Joanna, glad you're liking the content! I'd start with asking your manufacturer what product certificates they have on the products (best to ask multiple factories so you know what is the standard), then I'd also ask if they have in-house testing, depending on the product it may be important that they also do internal testing before production. I'd also verify this information with a 3rd party like Intertek or SGS and ask them what are the legal and industry standards for your particular product you want to import (this will be free information as those 3rd parties also do the testing so they are just quoting you to do the test but at the same time you are finding out what tests are legally required and which ones are just suggestions). I have a question and it’s just about every time I try to buy an E bike the bomber style Enduro it shows up as say 1400 then I ask him for how much would be to Canada like for one of these bikes in total and they say well we could do it for 850 then when they write it up it’s 3000 and something are they showing the delivery fee on the bikes not the cost I don’t understand

kian , about scam number 6, does not trade assurance prevents a buyer to get scammed , by holding the money from the seller. I mean, if this is possible, that would defeat the whole purpose of a safe payment mecanism.

I think it's safest to just do the payment through alibaba trade assurance so it's protected, if you use cash app or zelle you have no protection. Just select the trade assurance box and it will show all those suppliers who accept payment through Alibaba 🙏

It is common that the customer pays for the 3rd party pre-shipment inspection but if the inspection fails for any reason then the re-inspection should be at the suppliers expense. I would always do the first payment on alibaba to make sure everything goes smooth and your goods were fine, once the order was received with no issues you can move to offsite payments for next one, but for the first one it's important to have trade assurance and that payment protection. If doing offsite payment make sure you get a pre-shipment inspection done, I can recommend you a good one by email if you like, if you need it drop me an email to k@sourcingwithkian.com

I'm looking to buy a can am hd10. I have gotten offers for the vehicle around 2000k from alibaba sellers. These run like 15k in the usa. How can they sell this cheap. They also want paid outside of alibaba by Zell or western union. Would you trust this.

Hi Kian. I am in a situation currently where I am sourcing a product and I sent three suppliers an image of a competitors product on Amazon to demonstrate to them a certain style (they happen to be a top seller). I have had one supplier come back to me and tell me they are the supplier of this product and another one didn't actually say this but they provided me with an image of a table piled high with this competitors product which is I guess also suggesting they are the supplier. I don't necessarily want to go with the same supplier as my competitor but I would love to know whether one or both is bending the truth. How do we find out these things? Thanks in advance. V.

Hey Victoria, thanks and noted your message. The short answer is that you'll never really know until you actually go to visit China and see the factory for yourself, and the other thing is that they could both be making it for that customer and/or both those companies may be trading companies using the same factory. So there's loads of variables and neither of them may be wrong. But for you, the most important thing is that you are happy with the price and the quality of the sample that you receive, so I would request samples from all 3 suppliers and then assess them once you've received samples and pricing - hope that helps :)

@@yasser_khouader personally I wouldn't be buying a laptop from alibaba especially just 1pc because you never know what you're going to get as a one off transaction, the ways to protect yourself are through inspections etc but the cost of inspection will probably be similar to the cost of the laptop so it's a difficult one to assess 👀
