Wouldnt compare the 7000 dollar phone to owning a luxury watch experience wise. as you said at its core the 7000 dollar phone is still a 1400 dollar phone but with a different exterior and look. A luxury watch doesn't just change on the outside but the movement on the inside becomes much more advanced as the price goes up, the detail and polisish on luxury watches is incredible, especially on brands like audemar piguet, patek philippe etc the quality of both the polishing on the outside and the amount of effort and detail put into the movements is just incredible.

@@pipsqeak7104 Time doesn't matter. A watch is complex, with different parts, materials, polishing put into it. Something like an Patek Philippe or Rolex is probably going to last you a lifetime, if not further generations. Something so simple yet complex. Nothing like a phone

@@errolhubilla911 Phones are probably the most complex day to day device/tool we use, which is why they become obsolete so fast. A mechanical watch, even though it's running on over 200 year old tech, you can still make it work. An even more basic implement like a knife or a hammer is basically 2000 year old technology with very minor improvements and still not obsolete today. A phone running on 10 year old tech is already next to useless because it's incompatible with current protocols, apps, webpages, etc. Plus luxury watches aren't really tools, but accessories. Fancy mechanical bracelets that you don't really use for their supposed intended purpose.

The phone industry is so cutthroat and bleeding edge that it's functionally impossible to build a reasonable phone with internals that are actually worth 7000 dollars. All of the flagships have arguably the most advanced processors and cameras on the planet (for their size). Remember that Apple took its iphone soc and beefed it up, and performed better than Intel's best mobile offerings. There isn't really anything we currently have that would both fit in a smartphone in regards to space or energy profile. There's a good chance that your phone has higher screen resolution and quality than any other device you own. There could probably be faster RAM and memory implemented, but given how fast phones are now, the higher energy consumption definitely isn't worth it for most use cases. tldr: Top tier smartphones already contain the best technology in existence, so you can't really get any more out of them without further technological development.

The selling point for the htc was for the speakers that were in the front of the phone hence yhe three bezel

I still have the Xperia 10 Mini and I would actually still use if the ear speaker didn't get very muffled that if you're in traffic you can't actually hear the other person. I still use it as a MP3 player still.

you probably should really get a new phone. also there's probably a big difference in quality between an actual smartphone from 2010 and a 7 dollar smartphone from 2010 even though neither are 2020 tech levels.

Meh. You can get a USB-C to 3.5mm DAC off of Amazon for as little as $15. And the phone comes with a pretty good USB-C headset.
