not really a sleeper if its an expensive car....everybody assumes BMW. Mercedes etc are fast.

@@nigelholland1714 yes. But most people ASSUME that BMW and Lexus are fast. If the perceptions are that your car is fast even though its slow, then the car is not a sleeper. Most people perceive that a stock looking Honda Civic is slow. But if upgraded properly under the hood and suspention without exposing that upgrade can surprise its opponent and beat even a super car. That is a sleeper.

Its safe to assume any car with factory looking flared fenders and 10" to 12" tires is not very sneaky. Now a 5000lbs Ford Flex with AWD and an Ecotec V6 hitting 0-60 in 5.9 seconds is a sleeper, IMO.

The fact that you put a Chrysler 200, one of the worst cars let alone brands in, I guess any clunker can be a sleeper.

M5 is not a sleeper, it has 4 Pot exhaust and especially the e60 which produces the noise of an F1 car with its over 5L V10 Engine

I would say most of these cars are understated, not sleepers. A sleeper would be like a 1999 Oldsmobile Aurora with an LS1 in it.

My buddy had an early 2000's Olds Allero with an LS in it. I don't know if it was Factory built or ordered with that or what, but it was his grandma's , then he got it. Granny was flying!!! Hah

Any of the SHO's are sleeperz. Or at least the first and last. I don't think they made the SHO's \hen the Taurus went all round and bubbly in the last 90's. I had a 1st gen that I bought at an auction a few years ago just to play around with, because it was beat up, but that thing rallied hard with that Yamaha engine and the 5 speed.

The flex and explorers are basically Ford tarsus SHO just lifted into a suv form.

The Chevy SS was also a rebaged Holden Commodore SS, much like the GTO/Monaro case. Although we missed out on getting the HSV variant for both rebadged brands.

God I wish they sold the Ute's here in the US... A 6 speed Maloo is my dream ride. GM screwed up folding Holden and never bringing any of the other designs to America. Any of the VXR badged cars would have been sweet

I just sold mine this year. It was a great but of fun, especially in the Winters up here in Alaska. It's the only Mazda I ever owned, but I've been a Honda man.all my life, and the MS6 is the only non-Honda JDM (or any) car I've ever drove whose gearbox felt almost as solid as any Honda. Mine was pushing about 320hp, but I was having problems with the BNR Turb's seals burning out.. The S3 n S4 .i'm just not into turbo tuning as much as other people, but the Cobb Port was sweet & it was worth it for the few years I owned it just to learn about Turbos with. It for now, I'll stick with all motor VTEC, yo... Hah! N/A All Day!

I dont remember if it was the RL or the TL, but Acura made an AWD Type SH for a couple years in the late 2000's with a 6 speed trans. There is 1 up here in Alaska, and the owner will never part with it. I want it sooooo bad... ⁰

The tl is the sleeper. No one expects the acura to keep up or pass them. Waiting to see if the new integra is gonna be good.

Yah I'm considering getting either a tl type s 2008 100km for about 8k or a Genesis sedan 2013 105km cost about 13k, ik the Acura will last longer but it's old and probably has rust on it but idk yet, it's my first car and I'm stuck on which one to get, I feel like the genesis is more of a sleeper cause to me honestly cause I never knew the lowest trim which is a v6 has 333hp 291tq 0-60 in 5.4 seconds.

That CTS-V wagon is bad ass!

Lexus ISF is a true sleeper, with barely any noticeable difference between the normal ISF, except when put side-by-side, like the raised bonnet (to accommodate the 5litre V8), quad exhaust tips stacked vertically, lowered profile, etc....with 417bhp 4.6sec 0 to 60mph....truly a sleeper.

With the amount of cars on this list that had a large price tag the Lexus ISF is most definitely a sleeper. Especially since you can find a good number of ISF's for far less money than a Chevy SS and the ISF has amazing tuning potential along with Toyota reliability.

That wasn’t a rs2 that was a Audi Sport Quattro. The RS2 was a avant. Apart from that i feel like the entire Audi B5 chassis should have been on this list the A4 and s4 looks damn near identical expect for the front bumper and painted side skirts and rear valance. But the S4 has a v6 twin turbo and came as a sedan and a avant. The RS4 came in avant only but had a more buffer fenders and quarters, a ton of carbon pieces, big ass brakes, and a whole lot more power. To the naked eye no one would expect that from a wagon

I'd love a b5 S4 avant, but I've never seen one that was either left stock, or in nice shape with low miles... Forget about a unicorn rs4... If I did, it would probably be like 50k

Hey just providing some feedback, some of the B Roll doesn't match up with the cars you're trying to discuss and you're not giving the proper descriptions. The S60 you were trying to talk about was a T6 Polestar for example, not just a regular R.

This TL 2004 to 2008 comes in FWD only and the Type S model is packed with about 278hp

Hmmm, that is not an RS2, that is a Sport Quattro (probably the most expensive classic Audi) neither of which unfortunately were ever produced for the US Market.

Tbh, even before I got into cars, I fully expected any luxury vehicle (BMW, Audi, Mercedes) to be fast, especially if they had their very well known Sport Badging (ex: M or AMG Badge). I even assumed that the slower BMWs were faster than they actually were, just because they were BMW… I know better now.
