I have a 2005 Volvo S60R and it is an amazing car. Looks great, handles like a dream, performs incredible for how heavy it is, and is the most comfortable car I’ve ever driven or rode in especially on long road trips which I have taken on multiple occasions

These are just my personal opinion.

Hopefully you read this, all of it. I want to start of by saying Yeah I’m sorry but the WRX and STI were never as impressive nor as reliable as Volvo’s 4 door turbo inline 5 powered sports cars, they just got more popularity because people know about them. But an amazing powerful and very tunable sports car(s) that have always been forgotten by the tuner/car community is Volvos “R” lineup of Performance cars, the S60R sedan and V70R wagon produced in very limited numbers from 2003-2007 and the US only got 04-07 model years at an approximate total of less than 3,600 cars shipped to the US in all years. 6spd manual offered in all years with a 5spd auto in 03-05 and a much better upgrade in 06-07 with a 6spd auto. These incredible cars had • Active all time AWD • Active adjustable suspension with active Yaw stabilization • independent braking system that can apply a single brake when necessary via the advanced traction control of the Haldex AWD • Brembo 4 piston brakes with specialized Brembo rotors • a turbocharged all aluminum 2.5L in-line 5 Built by Porsche specifically for Volvo’s performance cars (The “R” lineup) that was so incredible it was used in the Mk.2 Ford Focus RS that never came to the US sadly. These cars even had their seats designed by an orthopedic surgeon specifically to be sporty and comfortable over long periods of time especially for people of any age with back pain. The level of quality, performance heritage, and innovation that went into the making of the Volvo S60R & V70R makes them much better than the expectations of the STI and had more power from factory. I have a 2005 Volvo S60R and I have taken it to the track so I speak from experience on its incredible performance and handling and I’ve loved everything about the car except how people hate on it so much yet it can be and is still to this day an amazingly competitive Sports car the world needs to be made aware of. It’s sad to see Miatas, Civics, Jettas, base model E46’s, and the Previa minivan get all the good attention from the tuner & car communities when they were never designed to be fast in any way but an actually good tunable performance car that is also a luxury sports car that is still a competitive car to this day even stock AND was designed to compete with the BMW M3 gets overshadowed by quite literally everything.

@@nlghtbot6320 yeah I’m well aware, not pleased with it but I was referring to the older sports cars that Volvo had built. I like the new cars but I wouldn’t get any Volvo made after 2011 because they finalized China’s ownership around then.

being underrated is a good thing in a tuning. you can easily make a sleeper with them because it's underrated and it's cheaper the only downside is the lack of culture in those cars
