he only good reason is to have the best funky-bluesy (single coil mode) on the planet and the best clean tones the very bad reasons = price, tuners (sometimes), trem, no good neck joint, no pure bypass, no out of phase, no neck+bridge pickup as single coil hard bends for the hands with this boring strat scale vs lp-sg with light gauge strings no 24 frets no dc except that it's a good guitar :)) but not really the best to play with not a great comfort with the guitar-strings-bends

Brilliant video. At 75 years old, I wish I'd bought my Squier Tele a lot earlier than 4 years ago, but never mind, I've got it now. Will post a pic of myself with Queens congratulations birthday card for my 100th.

It's Amazing how many people think this is all real.
I learned on a Fender Mustang before moving to a MIM Tele about a year later. Shortly after, I found my dream guitar in a Fender American Professional Jazzmaster, but I still like to go back to the Tele every so often just for fun. It really is a unique guitar that's a lot of fun to play. Only thing I miss is the offset I get with the Mustang and Jazzmaster, but to each there own.
You forgot to mention Nick Jonas the guitar god who also plays on tele.

I just bought my first tele and I have to say I am super impressed and the sustain is remarkable- so much fun to play
This guy is so humble and can play like a demon,we need more guys on KZread like him...lol

loved the Keith bit, actually laughed because he was my inspiration for ever wanting a Tele in the first place...now I can live forever and levitate!!!!
The more guitars I know (and make) the better the Tele becomes
Reason #8: Durability. The tele is a solid, rugged, enduring piece of design. None of that head-stock-breaking-off-neckjoint-cracking crap that you get with Gibsons. I've had two Gibbys (SG and Les) crack up on me, but last fall, after hurricane season, I went out in the yard and chopped up fallen trees with my '77 Tele.
Great video man. I just started playing guitar and got a Tele. Thanks for validating my initial observations that this guitar can do it all!

This video is the most fresh thing I have seen these last months ! Thanks Andy for that ! Subsribed ! cheers from brussels ... point 3 definitely convinced me :)
Brittish humour at it´s best. Love it Andy.
Yes, Leo got it right first time. I've played Tele's for many years. I've tried others, but nothing, and I mean NOTHING compares to it. Many think of a tele as a country music only instrument, but that can't be father from the truth. Yes, it is a great CM guitar, but it's more than that. It can be used in all types of music. For me, it's excellent for jazz, and when I have a hankering to play surf music from the past, it does well with that too. The Tele is the most versatile guitar made, bar none!!
I have one MIM and one LP Junior P90's but regarding sound I will go all day with my Tele. Love that sound ❤
i was a tele player before i saw this video (just now). completely validated. cheers.
I have 3 different Telecasters. Can I consider myself as immortal? By the way, other reason for me is Richie Kotzen. Nice vídeo!

Kotzen in german means vomiting
Entertaining Video. . . love the picture of the Morris Minor behind you. I had one when I was in Oxfordshire in the late 70s.
I thought he was joking about reason number 2. Just got a tele last night, and it won't let me play anything for long...that doesn't end up sounding country. Love it so far. Playing it gives me a very different feeling than my LP and Strat. I highly recommend getting one. They are such fun.
I finally bought a Tele when I realized that in case of a bar fight they make a terrific club. Simple, not much to break, decent weight, just unplug and swing. I realize that in the UK the hoodlums are confined to the soccer stands, but here in the US the inhabit the bars.
I like the levitation part the best. I am old and I need my Tele so I don't have to walk a lot. Better than a magic carpet. All jokes aside. I would not trade mine for anything on the market.
We get it. You hate the tele.

Loved this video! Now I have to reassemble my telecaster and check it out before finishing it! Didn't know Eddy Van Halen had one!
Cool. I have a butterscotch Player Tele with these “Plus-Deluxe” upgrades by me - Vintage Fender bridge and tuners, Wilkinson's compensated saddles, Mojotone ’52 Quiet Coil pickups, Lucky Dog gnarly knobs, angled-switch cover-plate, and a three string tree to stop the g-string ring behind the nut. It's a great guitar. I love the satin back/glossy top maple neck. For me it just blows away anything else under a grand. And I prefer it to the American series which I can afford to by if I wanted to.
LOL Just the kind of honest, straight forward bogus-osity I needed to hear. This was great so much fun and , as we all know, oh so true. Made my day. Thank you.
I’m getting one you’ve convinced me Had one years ago should never have sold it.👍
3:01 slashs les Pauls: am I a joke to you
I have a Fender Modern Telecaster Plus and Love it.I play old school Country. But as You said This Guitar can do it all.Thank You so much.
Nice satire, dude. To everybody arguing over strat's and tele's below here's my solution. 5 guitars: Strat, Tele, Les Paul, Paul Reed Smith, and an acoustic and you cover all the bases.

Picked up a 93 tele love it usa plays great 25 years old.
Last year, got myself a cheap Tele copy for a $100. I was curious why everyone likes them? A year later, I swapped the neck on it, installed genuine Fender tuners and modern bridge, DiMarzio Chopper T, and Twang King pickups.. $400 worth of upgrades.. Today it plays and sounds better than my American made Strat. I fell in love with it

Great video, Andy. But just one hairy question - with that great versatile Tele why do you need the rack of great guitars in the background?
Great Video Andy. Which reissue are you demoing in this video? Headstock decal is throwing me, but it's tone is amazing.

Thx for the quick reply Andy. I'm a lefty and that's made finding certain models incredibly difficult, right off the shelf. I just sold a Custom Shop 51 Nocaster, because of the "U" baseball bat neck, but I still love Telecasters for all the reasons you sited. Hoping to find an American Tele with a Modern C neck without having to order one from the custom shop for triple the price ;-) These Specials look amazing (and I love jumbo frets), so I'll keep my eyes peeled for a lefty version now that I've seen your demo. Thx again!
Have no desire to play guitar but if it makes you live longer, then God dam it I’m going to buy one

Good stuff here mate. Subd.
Keith Richards was the reason I picked one up. I'd be lying my ass off if I said otherwise...........My '99 standard MIM Telecaster is the shit. Total attitude in tones this thing has---neck pickup is stock but the bridge is a Seymour Duncan Hot Rail. Indeed plays everything and anywhere in between.........The magic is in the chops and how you manipulate the tone controls..... GREAT VIDEO dude.....
I’m loving that 3rd reason 😂
I wondered why I bought one 3 years ago. Know I know!
