NEVER spray WD 40 on your shoes. It dissolves the glue holding the upper part to the sole. You'll notice the upper separating from the sole in a week or so.

@hachihack Cause oil lubricates. Oil protects metal and other materials from corrosion. Of course there's different blends of oils. Some are for engines, others for transmissions and brakes. WD40 is a light oil. Great for cleaning any all sorts of things. If you don't like WD40, try baby oil.

If you use WD-40 on your sneakers, in several months the rubber will warp and crack and the glue that holds the soles to the uppers will come loose and your sneakers will fall apart!!! WD-40 contains 'Petroleum distillates', which should NEVER be used on Rubber or Vinyl. Even if the instructions for use on the can claim that the product is "Safe" for use on those things!...
