San Andreas absolutely blew my mind when I was a young adolescent kid. Starting out as a street thug was cool enough, and then I got to travel across different cities, be in ties with the Mafia, Triad, and some weird individual. Never had a great PC to handle open world games like Elder Scrolls so San Andreas basically became THE RPG for me.

GTA IV is one of the only games that I actually think deserves a 10/10. The story is probably one of the best in game history. The gameplay is so much fun I kept playing for years after release. Both the DLCs are top notch and feel like full games. It's honestly my favorite game of all time.

I think it was a deeply impressive game but that's all the more reason why I think they could've pulled off including features that felt needlessly left out. Things like planes and bicycles as transport methods, also I wish the color palette of the graphics was a bit more diversified. But in terms of mechanics for cars, fighting, police pursuits etc it's a mile ahead of GTA V and that's something I'll never really get.

strongly agree with you, it has the most recognizable driving dynamics of any games and yes the euphoria system for the ragdoll works the best in IV out of all Rockstar titles, only in that game people can get hit by a car but still keep their balance or get shot but still keep shooting while failing back, or if it's shot on a specific place the person will hold their hand at the wound while still at the same time doing all of this (balancing, shooting with one hand, keeping hand at the wound),that actual system is calculating a bunch of mathematical stuff make it seem like a real person, it's the only system what makes interactive ragdolls where if a player enters a ragdoll you can still control the player, like when Niko is drunk you can actually give direction on where to go while he tries to keep his balance with his hands too without pre made animations, everything is calculated, it's amazing, I never seen that anywhere else, in Max Payne 3 euphoria makes it sure that when Max jumps in slow motion and starts shooting if you hit a wall in mid jump the animation won't stop, max will be hit by the wall hard but you can still control the shooting, meaning you can multi task without being interrupted, amazing tech, other Rockstar games have this too but it's more limited

One regret in my life was not playing san andreas following the story on my first playthrough . I was not paying attention to the story and was just playing the game for fun, essentially speedrunning the game with cheats and shit. It took a couple of play-through for me to actually play the game following all the cutscenes and properly following the story. By that time most of the plot twists were revealed unknowingly already. But what a masterpiece of a game, its arguably one of the best games which has the most memorable characters in it, and a well written story spanning across the map with different areas and different storylines. Shame that with all the technical improvements in games we rarely get an openworld experience like san andreas

What never made sense to me in GTA 4 was that the diamonds get thrown onto a garbage truck, but are then later found by the homeless gentleman in a trashcan...think about it for one second it makes no sense...a garbage truck would be going to a dump, not driving around offloading random piles of garbage into trash cans around the city. Anyway, besides that the GTA franchise is my favorite and I pretty much replay these games at least once a year!

One of my favorites not mentioned in the video, that got me jumpin' of my couch as a kid was in GTA : SA. You go racing in the mountains with the Japanese. In the cutscene after the race I think, CJ is having a fight with his crazy ex Catalina, while Claude (the silent protagonist from GTA III) is just chillin' in the background. I remember going "Oh brother, you don't know what you're getting yourself into". Also the the fact that he still doesn't say a word through the cutscene, cool times..

Ryder and Big Smoke at the top of the list! Those two were comic relief to me when I first started the game, but when Cesar called CJ, it did seem like something interesting was about to happen. This reminded me of that mission in GTA 3 when instead of returning to the big boss, you got a call from that prevented you from going there and getting not only betrayed, but killed as well. Unbelievable twists in stories are always good when done the right way. Thanks for the video. Very much enjoyed it.

I can't say Big Smoke's reveal as a traitor was such a big shock to me. There were clues, very early on, that there was something fishy going on with him. Just the fact that he seemed to be doing much better than the others (new car and new house) was a big red flag. He also seemed very interested in doing business or ripping-off other gangs behind Sweet's back, and Tenpenny magically appeared outside his house. And every time Carl asked him about any of those oddities, he always changed the conversation.

I also think that big smoke's betrayal was foreshadowed in the mission drive by, when cj asks how his mom was killed Ryder says that they were going for sweet. But smoke deliberately tries to avoid the topic and said that you don't know what people are like, even his tone sounded like panicky. So it makes sense to think that big smoke was involved from the beginning and Ryder was involved later on
