Another tip about the dry lint deposit: If you are using anti-static sheets in your dryer, be sure to put the lint collector out every month or so and dunk it in hot water with soap for about half an hour then rinse. As you use the sheets, they leave a residue on everything in the dryer that stops static from building up but also clog up your lint dryer, reducing air circulation toward it and can make your motor work overtime and break it.

Thank you very much! I live in an older home. My home runs off well water and the well water is particularly hard. Mainly out of iron it stains things this brownish reddish hue. The under lip of my toilet bowl has always been a task scraping off and cleaning. And I do clean with vinegar and baking soda to change the ph and get rid of the hardness when scrubbing. I never thought of using paper towels in that way.

Great video on some easy and natural ways to keep things sanitized and neat in the bathroom. I would like to add that apple cider vinegar can also be used instead of white vinegar. Since it seems that more people have apple cider vinegar, many people could benefit in knowing that so they do not feel they have to go out and by white vinegar when they want to clean something.

I am definitely going to try the vacuum & a paper towel, or wrapping paper roll on the dryer. A few months ago my dryer quit working due to lint build up underneath the trap. It got too hot and threw a safety switch. Costed me around $60 to have it cleaned out & the switch reset!

Tired of your significant other snoring in bed? Just pour vinegar over them, make those snores vanish in an instant! But wait...there's more! Don't want to go to school/work today? Can't fake a sick call to save your life? Drink a bottle of vinegar! You won't be going anywhere that day but wait!... Is your hair dull? lost its shine? your boyfriend/girlfriend making comments about it? No worries, just pour a bottle of vinegar over them, it'll take that shine right out of their hair and they won't say shit about yours from now on. Careful, they might struggle, just plug them up with toilet paper to keep them quiet and tie them up with duct tape.

+Navon Myhand Yes it can. A German report tells of a woman who attempted suicide by drinking about 400 milliliters of 25 percent acetic acid--roughly the same amount you'd find in a quart of strong vinegar. The result wasn't pretty--hemolysis (rupture of red blood cells), kidney failure, and severe internal burns. She recovered, but from the standpoint of confirming the above projected LD-50 (some have caviled that my estimates in this regard are too casual), I note that my number is apparently in the ballpark and if anything is too high--the authors claim the amount the woman drank is normally lethal. From Hong Kong we learn of a woman who thought she had a piece of crab shell stuck in her throat and drank rice vinegar to soften it up--evidently a soft-headed folk remedy in those parts. She suffered caustic burns of the esophagus, and no, the crab shell (if that's what it was) didn't dissolve. A report from Austria tells of a cider vinegar fan who developed hypokalemia (low potassium levels), hyperreninemia (a condition caused by overactive kidneys that can lead to high blood pressure and other problems), and osteoporosis. A physician friend of mine has seen hypokalemia in a patient who took cider vinegar as a health supplement.

Cheap vodka is a good cleaner too. If you let your toilet bowl brush dry before you put it back then the smell won't really be there. To dry it you just put the brush between the seat and the rim of the toilet and you walk away from it to let it dry once it's dry you can put it back.

A suggestion regarding the viengar/Dawn solution ... I use cleaning/industrial strength vinegar. It has a higher acidity level and works better than food grade vinegar on hard water stains. I live in Austin, TX and we have very hard water. Nothing worked until I started using the cleaning strength vinegar.

You're right. Common distilled white vinegar is typically 5% whereas industrial is 6%, slightly more effective. Either will work, though.

I buy 10% works like a charm! love it. It's strong in smell yes , but does it ever do the job. :) They do sell it at the supermarket, normally in the isle for "Natural" products. not sure if I'm allowed to mention the brand , but it's called "ALLENS" cleaning vinegar. Double concentration.

Im a believer in vinegar after i watched it achieve miracles with cat urine removal spray diy spray i got off here once. It really does kill bacteria and gemzymes from urine. So i will try packing the tissue soaked vinegar under rim.
