I'm just remembering a KZread comment I think I read, but I don't think you actually have to play for that long, another button appears somewhere in the room or something like that. Again I could be mixing it up with another ending, or just completely misremembering things, but I swear I read there was a way to get the baby ending without spending hours and without console commands

Another fun thing is that even though it's durability is seven hits, you can still use it albeit broken, but heavy attacking zombies with the sword straight up sends zombies *flying*

Wow, the fact that Jack's hat stays til you take damage is impressive. It'd usually just be animation and the hat would just blink out of existence the moment you move, but if it stays til you take damage that means it's an actual object separate from Jack, which is quite a bit of work for something that 90% of players will never see.

I think one of my favorite patient video game Easter eggs is the Secret ending in Return to Monkey Island. In the game, Captain Guybush is telling his story in the future to his son. During the game, you can find yourself underwater holding your breath. Well if you fail to get out in time, Guybush’s son will start to get worried, Now Guybush says he still had minutes but if you fail that timer, Guybush will die and a secret ending will play

Did any one else notice the potential Easter egg during the saint rows Easter egg. At 9.33 the message says 'Wow, Halfway there!' this is roughly 92% of the way through the timer. In Runescape Level 92 is half way to Level 99. The highest level in the game you can get to. Probably just me :)

Fun fact: Excalibur and the Sword in the Stone are actually not the same sword. The Sword in the Stone was the proof of Arthur's kingly heritage, while Excalibur was gifted to him by the Lady of the Lake

fun fact: thats not technically correct. it depends what version on the old folk lore you read about, there is a quite well disputed argument that the lady of the lake made exaclibur upon merlins request from the broken blade of caliburn (the sword in the stone) so whether a reforged sword is a new sword or not is a different argument. basically its folk lore and there's no correct answer to whether they are the same or not

Another fun one is Witch's House. The main "enemy" of the game is a witch that's very ill and slowly dying and you can't leave because of her magic. If you wait at the start of the game for an hour you can leave because she just dies in her bed.

I've actually been trying to get the "Go Outside" achievement. This year in May, I'm finally going to be able to play the original Stanley Parable again :D Edit, I wasn't aware of the Super go outside. Now I'm conflicted.

I havent played it so I have a few questions... 1- can you do a system time exploit? 2- can you download a 5 year old save file? 3- are there multiple save files? Like, could you start one, exit, start a new one and play through it on there and in 5 years play the first one?

That Nirvana reference in the Goat Simulator Easter egg was a nice touch 🤣

There's another easter egg in the original resi 2. Not time consuming, but definitely neat. In areas where the camera is sitting level with leon/claire, for example, the hallway just after the stars office, if you stand facing the camera, and shoot your gun, bulletholes appear in the screen.

In Life is Strange, during Max’s nightmare, when you get to the diner bathroom if you fail the keypad puzzle 50 times, Max will say “ I’m going to get the developers for these bullshit code puzzles”and the door will open allowing you to progress

May I suggest the one easter egg in Curse of Monkey Island where asking Guybrush to interract with the sea in Chapter IV I believe 50 times he will eventually stumble upon an alternative ending to a certain puzzle from the original Secret Of Monkey Island

On the old PSP game, "the 3rd birthday", the Parasite Eve franchise has a shower scene as an Easter Egg in every game. For this one, you either have to beat the game on the punishing hardest difficulty, or beat the game literally 50 times. After reaching either goal, head to the shower room very early in the game for the cutscene.

Yeah, someone also recently discovered that one of the stats the game would transmit back to Square Enix to store on their servers wasn't just related to level scores and times, it also transmitted how many players unlocked this scene, how many times they toggled it, and the total amount of time a player spent watching that scene. Let that sink in.

There's a funny Easter egg in the new Hitman Freelancer mode. You can unlock posters to hang in your safe house, and one of them is just a post it note that says "Alan, please add details."

I think the biggest easter egg of all is Captain Eggcellent making us sit through the entire 5-minute yoga session easter egg of Goat Simulator 3. And yes, I absolutely watched the entire thing

There is one patience in a game that you HAVE to do and it’s in Alex Kidd in High Tech World where you have to pray at a shrine 100 times to get an item to progress the game!

There's a really cool detail in the new Dead Space Remake, if you spend some time in the vacuum out the ishimura your suit will start to freeze, then if you get back inside the ice will slowly start melting, leaving a layer of water all over your suit, then it will slowly dry too

One I like is taking the stairs in Final Fantasy 7 Remake. It mostly just has some fun dialogue between characters as you take a few minutes to climb up the stairs as the characters get more and more tired

You cut the gunpoint easter egg before the end. If you keep punching for a good while longer, the message starts talking again and eventually gives you an achievement just so you stop. Then it keeps changing messages for a short while longer before finally stopping once and for all, as a silent treatment.

For the Saints Row 4 Easter egg, I always choose the lick door option cause it's funny and I really like candy canes 😅

Here's a fun pair. In Metal Gear Solid, your last objective is to escape Shadow Moses Island before it's destroyed by a nuclear bomb. You're given a deadline to get out of the base before it hits, but when you get to the ending you'll learn that the bomb strike was called off by the Pentagon after learning the operations chief was dirty. Well, if you let the timer run out on the bomb strike, nothing happens. Come on - it's not like Campbell was going to wait around if your life depended on it. Here's also a fun one that also counts as a detail. In Mass Effect 2's Arrival DLC, you have to investigate a missing scientist who has discovered an imminent reaper invasion and you have to do something desperate to stop it. The last objective given is to escape the base, which gives you a timer to escape before the reapers arrive. But the timer takes a ridiculously long time - I'm talking hours. If you wait around, you get a unique ending out of it. But, here's the thing. The Easter Egg is different depending on when you play the DLC. If done after you complete the base game, it will take two hours. If done before, it will take days.

I'll never forget Samurai Jack's theme song lol. Chachara, chachachachacha, chachacha, wacha!

In hi-fi rush You can sometime find two special robots who are a easter egg to the evil within the one being Sebastian castellanos and the other is his sidekick Joseph oda. and at least in the german Version Sebastian has the same voice actor as in the evil within

I actually got that one on Gunpoint on that other the agent on with jump suit. I was personally mad at him, and the message pop ups only encouraged me.

A new free DLC for PowerWash Simulator just dropped a few days ago which is a crossover with Tomb Raider. That DLC charges you to clean five levels all taking place in the Croft Estate. The devs took the occasion to make plenty of references to the Tomb Raider franchise. Here's a few of my favourites: -During the first level Winston, Lara's Butler, says that he will prepare you some tea after he gets out of one of the many challenges that Lara Croft puts onto him. Later on Lara contacts you and asks if Winston managed to get out of the Freezer. Old times fans will surely remember what they refer to. - The third level tasks you to clean an Obstacle course and a Quad. This does take place outside and is a reproduction of Tomb Raider's 3 Obstacle Course. - In the same level Lara, when talking about the quad, says that she drove it everywhere and that one time she even managed to drive it onto the roof of the mansion. - The fifth level is the secret treasure room that can be found in TR3 (if I remember correctly) and there's a few things to find here. First, there are tire marks all around the ground, caused by Lara's antics with the Quad. Second there's a globe that you can open, and when doing so you can hear the classic Secret Found sound cue from the original trilogy, and can find a golden garden gnome hidden within the globe. Third there are references to her previous adventures with the artifacts you have to clean. I'm surely missing lots of easter eggs in that DLC, but fans will have a field day with this.

The baby ending in Stanley Parable is definitely worth it

yeah but the mistake was made so long ago that ithe two weapons have become intertwined in myth and so almost any dipiction of sword in the stone is excalibur now so i wouldnt really call it a mistake on the devs fault as you could say they wer referencing it from a movie or game that previously did so

In hi fi rush when you replay the main story you get to a point where you lose to a mini boss in the 3rd track where you can get unique dialog by beating instead of fighting it normal use your summon to break the armor

I remember in saints row four when customizing your character you have the option of a Russian female voice. I remember it so vividly my mom used to mimic it so well so it lived in my brain, recently I decided to replay the game and found out there’s no longer the Russian voice option. They tweaked it a bit turning it into a French woman. I don’t know if I’m having the Mandela effect or if they actually changed it. (I even texted my mom asking her about it and she remembers mimicking it. And even using one of the catchphrases in Russian as a pass code whenever she had friends pick me up from school.)

I'd like to think the yoga section in Goat Simulator 3 is a way for the developers to encourage people to live more freely and earnestly in their real lives in the same way that they do as a form of escapism in the game.

There is an "easter egg" (more like a rare collectable) in a lovely time-manipulation puzzle game named "Braid", where to get the first "star" you have to wait for a few hours for some cloud platform in the skies to finally move to a position where you can use it.

as im here early for once, the goat simulator yoga session, also has a tiny little reference added that might be worth pointing out: the writing that says "smells like cleaned spirit" at the end of your yoga session is a nod to Nirvana´s song "smells like teen spirit"

I've got one! In sonic adventure there is a level called casinopolis and the goal is to collect 400 rings and deposit them to beat the level, whenever you deposit rings there is a statue in the "hub" for the level that will slowly build itself. I can't remember the exact number of ring you had to deposit but I wanna say I was there grinding the pinball tables for well over an hour to fully construct the statue.

I remember the Saints Row one. I was up way too late when I tried but, so I was cackling the entire time.

I was laughing the whole time while I had the boss of the saints lick the candy cane bars

So there's a cute one that I'm not sure that's in here from world 4-1 of the Sega Genesis game Ristar where after you get all 4 of the music notes, the music will go into an idle music loop thing waiting for you to go to the boss in the next screen. If you wait for a few minutes without going to the boss while the idle loop is playing, the music will change to a rendition of "Mary had a little lamb" for no reason. Always thought that was cute. Look into it if you're considering a part 3 to this.
