These are the types of machines I saw, every day, when I worked in a machine shop during the 70's. I haven't been back for over fifty years, but I doubt that there are many machines, like these, still on the floor. Everything is computerized; sadly, the skill and experience of the machinist is diminished. Nice work, btw.

Excuse me, but when you settle a housing on its rough outer surface and machine the base, you obtain different center heights from part to part. Bearing housings made in this way are unusable because the shaft won't be parallel to the base plane. You absolutely need to clamp a housing on its borehole to obtain equal center heights which is essential for bearing housings. This is most easily and most precisely done clamping the parts on a 3 cam chuck fixed on a horizontal milling machine

Well considering the 100 year of machines and conditions WHY don't you see how you get on using the same? It is easy to spout off be could you achieve in the same environment using same? Likely not 😂

@@user-vo8kz9it2k I would apply the right method even on a 500 year old machine, it's not about the age or condition of the machinery. It-s about understanding the basics.

@@user-vo8kz9it2k None of this equipment is bad equipment, you will find many shops in modern first world nations use the same types of manual machines that are often just as old or older. The difference is that they are well cared for by the actual machinists who use them and the procedures they follow are proper and efficient. The equipment shown in these videos is not the problem, I would love to have many of these machines and I often turn out far better work with much much less.

Max 20€ for safety shoes. ones per year, and 6€ for safety gloves, twicw per year. To show me that you care about your workers. Nothing else. And, when you use scrap metal, clean it, please. With this two changings you will be much better workshop. You have the skill, but, you still have the discipline.
