    Pulls like a champ. Knew I made the right choice to stay away from diesels and all their emissions garbage. Really unfortunate.

    The 7.3 is for sure awesome. To have all the performance for its price and simplicity is a huge advantage. It has won me over big time

    So this might sound dumb but I’m new to the super duty game just bought a 2024 f250 CCLB 7.3 WITH 3.73 gears and a 10600 gvwr they told me my max tow capacity is 16,200lbs can I just add another leaf spring to mine and then be able to up the max tow capacity? Or is it the axle that would need to be upgraded

    There are no dumb questions here im glad you commented. If you look up 2024 superduty towing guide you can use their chart to find out exactly what it is for both gooseneck/5th wheel and conventional towing. According to their 2024 guide there is a 3.73 and 3.73e option meaning e locker. Gcvwr and towing cap is about 1100 lbs more with the electronic locker. Now i doubt its because of the locker housing itself. My bet is there is a different (higher capacity) axle used when the e locker option is selected. Anyway they are correct at 16200 if you dont have an e locker and it says 17300 lbs if you do have the e locker option. Now you cant ever change the rated capacity of the truck. But you can improve the performance of it for a specific task ar your discretion. So if you did put a timbren bump stop on or air bags you will prevent sag and potentially improve ride when towing. You could change lead spring pack as well but be sure the new spring pack might end up being the same as what they installed in your truck. Some 250’s are getting an overload spring now. As for the 5th wheel spec its the same as conventional for your truck. 16200 or 17300 if its an e locker. Your payload will end up being the limiting factor in that arrangement. Its whatever is exceeded first when it comes to ratings. Just because the gcvwr is enough, payload has to be as well.     @@greatlakespowerstrokefx4 see I never asked that , I don’t even know what an e locker is but I might have an idea cause I drive a 550 at work, when I’m at a red light the truck feels like the emergency brake is on when I let off the break when I go to hit the gas if that’s it then I don’t have an e locker on mine

    @@nicktracy4118 what i think you are feeling is hill start assist. It holds the brakes so the truck doesnt roll back. As for your differential does your 4wd selector switch have a button with what looks like a pad lock on it? Bottom left it should be?
