We've All Heard inventors saying "it came to me in a dream" - But Never a FAF Map Maker!
Join us, for todays hand crafted, dream inspired 12 Player "NO SHARE" Game.
Upper East Side enjoys a 235pt lead across the board, leaving the South Side Spinners fighting an uphill battle of roughly 39ppp. Who will take todays title on the Town in Turmoil?
Special welcome to Luke who just signed up on the Patreon account, and also a thanks to Mr K. who randomly decided to donate a dollar. As the famous ad goes, every little helps, and as at the end of the month, it really does make a difference. Speaking of which, if you wish to help support what I do, and receive extra perks: / tacticaltakeover
If you have a good replay to cast, or otherwise want to contact - go via the website: www.tacticaltakeover.net

If you enjoy todays game - leave it a Thumbs Up. Comments are like gold dust for me. You can put a smile on my face, or make us all laugh, be impressed with your insight on some FAF skill - I learn many things here (eg ground firing 4-5 stacked donuts, insta-kill enemy ASF that go for the 'nut).
Finding out you enjoy these casts MAKES MY DAY. I also appreciate comments from people who point out where I'm going wrong, and what I can improve. They are responsible for many of the positive changes to the channel.
I've setup a way to support the channel for anyone willing to do so. I love casting games, and certainly don't require financial incentive to press record. If people enjoy my video content, and wish to help meet some of the costs involved, then great, and if it ever extends to the point it allows me to devote more time to casting, then the magic really begins. Leaving a tip behind is welcome, not expected. Thanks to Tommy for helping with channel artwork.

More information on Game / FAF community:
For those who like what they see, but aren’t entirely sure if they heard right, yes Forged Alliance is a game that’s 15 years old. You heard right, Fifteen! Kept alive & thriving, thanks to a fantastic team of people (where those words actually mean something). Check out FAForever (dot) com for information & quick start guide. The game is cheap enough on the steam store.
Legal: Tactical Takeover - this channel - found at / @fafcast is my own take as a "FAN / Commentary Channel". Any official FAF assets (including logo, name, lobby or core game) that feature in the making of this video should be seen as an incidental part of casting the game.

Finally, thank you for giving up some of your precious time today, I hope in return I made this hour we've spent a little brighter. Also, if you read this far, you’re something else! Then again, I wrote this far, so guess that makes 2 of us.

What an amazing game! The map gave some of the most fun-to-watch close combat. It was refreshing seeing the 2000 incapable of bringing his strength to bear for such a long time - in particular after he had gone full eco in the beginning. The come-back was a little meh. Feels like team 1 was more toying with team 2, and that had them allow the come-back to happen. But still. THANKS FOR CASTING!!!

I'm not sure about the toying. Team 1 was slowly cracking under the pressure. The bugs almost got the Yolona and if Team 2 had SMDs to protect theirs they would certainly win. I think Nomander knew that he had to turtle + game ender, he wouldn't be able to push all those players anyway, and he had a good position to defend. I also applaud Tesla for not quitting but choosing a very good defensive spot and helping the pro with his master plan.

That area of water on this map was like a three quarters empty bath. It's a very attractive map to look at. Rather funnelly in nature, making turtling an option. Against a good defense on this map it's then a case of who gets and keeps a game-ender first: yolo, scathis, paragon, mavor...

Damn that chain reaction at the back of Green Team base when VIST and Evil Genius went down back to back was epic.

Really fucking great game, good comeback from bottom team, just methodical, didn't lose their heads, while the other team just couldn't come up with a proper closing. The map is unorthodox, but I like the valleys and hills approach a lot.

very enjoyed your close-in camerawork as the game heated up into huge assaults. its worth zooming in (maybe even try going super slow-mo once or twice) to showcase the big fireworks shows gj 👍

Great tip! I've done slow mo a couple times beforehand (the T3 transport "bubbles" falling out the sky like, as hundreds flew over flak was like a dealer shuffling cards on that bizarre Uber pro Setons). Actually something I really should do again in these high octane moments - especially since they added all those new special effects a few months back. If it occurs to me in the heat of the moment, I'll definitely do it next time. Thanks

I think the UEF _Defense Satellite_ is the best named unit in the game. It's completely something a government would pick when naming an offensive unit.

Well we do expect a comeback when one side seems to be winning early on, which is great (and something that I feel is necessary to have a good game, rarely are one-sided games enjoyable), but not every comeback must succeed, sometimes it falls just this little bit short - like if in this game Nomander's Yolona got almost destroyed.

I agree with you 100% - I think it's definitely the toughest job of a caster, sifting through all the games to find ones that contain all ingredients. I reckon it's probably only about 1%

haha I chose this name for youtube because the name I wanted just didn't work, or any other name I tried, so I held the 9 key down for a while just to see if it was possible to make an account in the first place. I turns out it was possible and all other names were either too short or already taken. This was a long time ago, youtube asked me at some point if I wanted to change my account name since it really isn't a proper name, out of spite I refused since it was "so much trouble" making the acc in the first place xD Hey, if I every get so good to be casted in a replay I'll see if the name is still available on FAF :P@@fafcast

Ah, thanks for clearing that up, so it was a new unit with forged alliance... I played heavily (about 3k games) around half pure SupCom, and again half when FA came out, and I don't recall anyone using those units early on.

Thanks for the - it really comes down to the players and the dynamic between them on the day, on a specific map, and then if the stars align with the planets (or use the word luck if you prefer) - then we get treated to something amazing. I used to assume casters just pick a game that's long and average skill or above and press record, but I got that really wrong. Most of the casters work is already done BEFORE they hit record, at least it is with me. As is probably obvious, I don't edit my videos at all, so it's important I have my ducks in a row when I press go. I sometimes come on and spend my free time that day looking for a game, don't find one, and leave with nowt, this is usually when you see a bigger then normal gap on the channel.
