Yesterday night I was so faded and drunk I couldn't open the door and couldn't get my keys out. So I looked up this video... slept outside today

I might add to this that removing the screws and hit them (and the screw holes) with a spray degreaser to clean any oil that has gotten into either piece, dry, and then use the locktite sparingly. It will be tight enough to keep the screws tight, but not require heating up or ruining the screw heads when needed from too much locktite...

Have you ever encountered the "opposite" situation, where the front flange/lip of the plug gets so worn down, that, after wiggling the key (in order to overcome the resistance from the jamming pin stacks) into the keyhole, you'll sometimes need to drag the plug with the key (in order to let all pin stacks "fall back" to the shear-position) to enable it to turn? This happens a lot on cheap lock cylinders, the plugs of which are made of almuminium or even worse. I've tried to add single coil of spring as spacer right behind the flange to mitigate the problem. It'll be great if you happen to have better solutions, though greater if you never gets into trouble like this. In any case, nice tip and vid, thanks!

First of all... I like your name haha Secondly, once in a while I come across something similar or some other oddball issue. You always want to stock up on various mortise cylinders to just swap out any faulty or cheap ones. I will try and do more videos on other common problems with mortise locks in the future! This is just one of the more common problems Locksmith's get called about for them. I have a stack of requests for videos lol, I am trying to get them all knocked out ASAP haha! - Kilo
