For the texture mat and bevel cutter. Visit www.ChineseClayArt.com
The strips cut off to form the beveled edges were then used as the coils to reinforce the joins between the slabs! Brilliant.
I love your wheel videos, but this was great too. You should do more hand building ones. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

You are welcome!
I would’ve expected the tarpaper to completely erase the texture, but it looks beautifully crisp.
Hermoso y instructivo video
very interesting Hsin-Chuen
Such technique!
Will you show the final work? The fire piece.
Very interesting. Is this method mostly for supporting the clay? Does the tar paper help the clay to dry more as well? Thank you for your generosity and for posting

Beautiful. How did you get that lovely pattern ?

The pattern was rolled on with a texture mat.
I have never seen tar paper with flowers and leaves patterned into the surface. Have I missed a step?

I roller the slab with flowers and leaves texture matt. After I pulled off from the constructed vase, you can see the texture was printed onto the tar paper.
I love your technique!!! Can you tell me the name of the tool you use yo cut the edges precisely?

You can use some kind water proof but flexible materials to sub for tar paper.
How did you get the design onto the tar paper?
@hsinchuen

The design was on the texture mat. Watch the video at the beginning when I am rolling the slab, I roll the texture mat onto the slabs. When I stick the tar paper, it was printed on the tar paper.
