This is awesome! I've never made a prop helmet before and this looks like the simplest shape to start with. Plus Magneto is my favorite comic villain of all time. Thanks for spurring us on with inspiration and helpful guides.

@@sofiacoria7164 not bad. I don't have it anymore because for me it was more of a fun little project to test the waters. I used very heavy 100lb card stock. If I were to ever try this helmet again I would make it out of super thick chip board so I could more easily make it fully rigid.

You're starting to become much more refined in every project you take on. Impressive

love the videos. Question!? You make this with cardboard, however, if i was to use 5mm craft foam, should i enlarge the pattern to compensate for the thickness of the foam to glue everything evenly?

5mm is not that difference than cardboard, anyway you can slightly enlarge it

use paper towel, toilet paper is too soft, not easy to mange unless you have some experience, also paper towel is stronger in the end :)

resin & fiberglass thingy is not easy to get from my local hardware store, i think it's because not many in my neighborhood into DIY, therefore it is kinda expensive. secondly, if i used resin, i guess many of my viewer won't be able to follow (budget, age & resin fiberglass are dangerous stuff) , since many are student :) about car putty i might, because i have one sitting in my garage, but first i need to figured a way to make cardboard stronger. to be honest i also hate sanding car putty :)

open the pdf with any image editing software, such as adobe photoshop, paint... enlarge it 10, 20% then print :)

do you have a video on how to scale/ modify pepakura files? for example a 300 Spartan helmet,or the batman cowl/wolverine, the pieces that extend from the face needs to me measured as well? as opposed to just measuring from top of the head to the chin? please advise, better yet make an awesome video as you always do.

Almost yes! Very jagged, almost Maleficent horns, not so sleek as Loki. I love the metal look and the almost hammered effect. Again love your work and I'm going to give this helmet a shot!!

Thanks man. Yeah it took about a day. I spray painted mine black and silver. It's all I had at the time. Just got the last clear coat on it. Turned out a little small. But did it quickly just to see if I could. Thanks again brother. What do you use to pad the inside. Anything?

Stacy Harris you mean 3:47 ? that's white mural color, water-based paint (can mix with water), very similar to my black acrylic paint (tube), only comes in bigger container & much much cheaper :)

yes, if you think cardboard surface is good enough, you can use hot glue to seal all the seams & edges, then paint :)

Dean Mackie, your "reply" button is missing, you can cover the whole helmet with bondo (car filler) or wall filler plaster, then sand it smooth :)
