60kW and 50 kW Chinese Induction Heater Comparisons

The actual wattage is no where what they claim but they are still very good units. Good value. Just wish these guys would give a true output power.

Very informative. I was just looking for a 240 volt unit.

Most will run on 240 at reduced power output. And when you order frequently you can select the input voltage. But the higher voltages are needed for full output. The only difference between the different voltage units are a transformer inside the converts the input voltage down to like 24 volts to run the control circuitry. So you can go down, how far down I don't know but you probably should not put 480 on a unit that was built for 240.

do you plan on using your smaller "25kw" units? If you have any you arnt interested in im willing to buy them used

Hi I’m interested in buying one of these machines. I don’t suppose you would know the current draw (Amps) for one of the phases for the 50kw and for the 60kw machine. Cheers Joe

If you install an ordinary water pressure switch the units won't turn on unless they have cooling water to pressurize the switch. Any commone shallow well water pressure switch would do. That's also how some homebuilt TIG torch coolers work to avoid frying expensive cable.

I just shorted it out. They really need to make it a flow sensor.

Could you run two 25kw machines on the same coil or two machines with two coils wound together to get 50kw? Or I guess it would actually be two 15kw machines to get 30kw...

Without the waveforms being exactly the same frequency and phase, they would fight each other and probably damage each other.
