Any chance the original engine could have been rebuilt- possibly even with it still in the frame? Maybe new or remachined heads if they were cooked from the overheat. Crankshaft condition would have determined everything, I suppose. I had a 91 S4 about 3 years back. It was (prob. still is...) Black on immaculate black interior, so really enjoyed all of your videos. I landed it off Ebay for $3800 + $650 transport. I was a marine engine builder in So. Florida and restorer of project Offshore, Cabin Cruisers, Sportfisherman boats, etc., which had sat for years, and it was amazing what we were able to bring back from the brutal Salty environment. Anyway, it took a lot of fear out of considering the 91 S4 (since it wasn't running). The fact it only had one engine and drive train, and was under 40'.in length made all the difference as well! Haha... I slowly went thu the engine and some components- lubing and preserving everything- but mostly just studying my subject, and reading and researching more than anything. Brilliant engineering, and design/lines. But, it was taking way too long. I got it to the point I knew it was a very good candidate to be finished by someone with the funds to pull it off properly, so it was a painful day when I doubled my money within 48 hours of the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale Craigslist Ad going live... I knew I had left a lot on the table, not just then, but prob. over the next decade it would have been an incredible investment. Regardless, it was very cool to see it go to a young man that clearly had the funds to finish it, and he knew it was a smoking deal! So, keep up the great videos and if you ever wanna learn how to build a guitar, drop in some time... Marc Somewhere in Alabama

Unfortunately, the local shops near me aren't too keen on assisting with hoses for import applications. They always gets skiddish when they find out it's for a BMW or Porsche.

I'd love to get the paint fixed but right now the priority is making the car run and handle well followed by the interior.
