Ойын-сауық

Video showing how to replace the LCD screen on a digital clock commonly found in Porsche 928 models such as the S4 from the middle years of the 928 model range. Also performed the modification to have clock display in 12 hour mode as compared to the standard 24 hour mode. The LCDs on these VDO clocks commonly fail with screen bleed, making them unreadable.

What a great video! I stumbled across this just as my replacement clock display arrived in the post! The display on my 87 S4's clock looks like a Rorschach test! Didn't realise I'd need a de-soldering pump, so I've ordered one. Thanks!

@@Bubblun1 I've a huge list of things to fix on mine. Mechanically it's fine. It's mainly electrical things (hatch release, sunroof, gear indicator lights etc).

@@AndyD070568 Yeah my "D" gear indicator light is out - I'm still learning how to fix that one so would appreciate any tips if you tackle it!

@@Bubblun1 I suspect mine are simply not getting power (there's a connector in the spare wheel well that comes from a switch on the transmission that supplies power to the reversing lights and also the gear indicator lights) as none of mine work. I suspect your D light has just burned out as that's the light that will have been on the most. A few people have replaced all the incandescent bulbs with LEDs which is something I might look into once I've sorted out the other issues I have.

Extremely informative. Car manufacturers don’t make it easy to fix/repair small things do they? But it’s always fun to work on your car though.

Yikes, that's rough. I don't think they're sold separately. I'd keep digging, mine blended in with the flooring and took me a while to find when I dropped them.
