60" SxS Comparison- Wildcat Sport, RZR S, Maverick XC

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The Rally on the Rocks crew does it again.
We got our hands on 3 stock units, 900 RZR S, Maverick XC and a Wildcat Sport. They are all great units, it's awesome to see how for the industry has come on these trail machines.
Thanks to Big Pine Sports, Moto Zoo and Honda Polaris of St George.

Exactly what I expected before watching. The cam am is the fastest but the diff lets it down on the rocks, the cat seems to have a great suspension but lacks power and the polaris is the most well rounded machine.

Yea I wouldn't say the Artic cat Trail sport limited is built for the dunes, 80 HP in this chassis would be perfect, I tested out one today and its snappy and zippy and will take a lauch off a jump and feel like landing in sand on hard packed ground, it hooks up good has less body roll than the other 2 machines, The Elka stage 5 shocks are bad arse. I am trying to decide between these 3 machines my self, good comparison. thanks for the shootout.. I like the white limited sport Artic cat. Would be good to see this shootout in the WV HMT country.

Just a couple mods to the Wildcat Sport those races would be a different outcome. With just a muffler and air box mod these 700 twin engines come alive. There's videos of these mods on a Trail and it beat the XP 1000 and Xrs by the same distance it lost by when it was stock. Yeah you can mod the other two but that's not my point. The Sport is out gunned in this comparison test due to the other two having larger engines and more power. I'm sure AC could find a way to place a larger engine in this chassis in the coming years. It's tight but do able. What would be better is a turbo Sport with the original 700 twin. It's known these engines take boost very well in stock forum and with its light weight is a beast. The stock engine can easily handle 8-9 psi all day long and has also been bumped up to 14 psi without one hiccup and with no internal upgrades. Pretty impressive seeing most others need at least forged pistons to take any boost at all. I plan on purchasing a Wildcat Sport come spring and with my experience and knowledge with turbo engines I will be producing a turbo kit for mine. Should be a blast to drive on the trails here in Wisconsin.

Not trying to sound like a jerk, but its gonna take a lot more than an intake and exhaust mods to get it to out perform a 1000 or Maverick. On tight twisty trails in the woods, it may hang with the big boys, but thats only due to its size and shorter wheel base. Plus the Cat Sport & RZR 900 S are designed for tight trail riding, while the 1000's are for dunes and wide open trails.

It looked like the Cat handled the bumps better then the other 2.

i would choose the rzr first for it's ability to take on rocks and ruts. the arctic cat would be my second choice. it may be a little lacking in power but it has the suspension to take on the rocks and ruts also. the can am has the power but lacks in suspension. it would struggle on the rocks and ruts. being you left everything stock on all 3.

RZR is the overall winner here The wildcat can benefit with more power The only thing can-am had going is power and speed, you can't even compare it with the other machines because of the 25% power increase. The maverick xc should just stick with the other power houses.

To me the big loser in the one was the Can Am. Yeah it has gobs of power, but the suspension really did not impress me in this particular test. IMO, the Polaris won this one hands down.

Nice comparison vid outcome was just what I thought it would be. Just curious if all 3 units were fully broken in before doing this? Mind posting how many miles and hours were on each?

Arctic cats wildcats are a great machines, they just need more power. I want a wildcat, wildcat x or a wildcat trail sport, but they are too underpowered for my liking in stock form. They are more evenly comparable when they have a intake, exhaust and tuning, but that's just to get where the others are stock. Arctic cat can do better.

Look for Turbo Dynamics videos. They have videos of intake and exhaust on a Trail and it easily beats everything it raced. Xp1000 Xrs and WC X.

Yes it does, Its the smallest machine out of all three, The motor pulls strong and hard, clutching could use more top end, the machine is geared lower than the other 3. The limited models rock!!

Other than power the can am had nothing. I'm debating between these three models right now myself and right now the rzr s is the leader. Just don't understand why can am can't get rid of that annoying whine in all their utvs. I had my mine set on a can am when i started my search a couple months ago but i see nothing's changed since the first commander i had. They look cool and have tons of power but real world function isn't there.

Can am whooped ass and it doesn't have great ground clearance but when u have a good chassis and loads of power it will beat any other side by side out there.
