+Amber Harrington Seriously, it's like MUSIC!! But it can be challenging to understand, depending on where it's from. I do remember watching an interview with the Scottish band Big Country where they actually had subtitles running underneath even though the band was speaking English. ;-)

Put the "subtitle" option on Rankin's video and it hears the word "lock" for "luck"and "harvest" for "hardest". :) I have a difficult time understanding the Scottish accent but love it. It is just beautiful.

Big fan of Richard's, VERY glad he will be our Roger on Outlander. YAAAAYYYYY!!!
I am so happy he will be Roger Mac on Outlander. The more great looking Scottish men, the merrier. Plus he can act and he sings really beautifully too. Perfect casting. Can't wait.

To be honest, I never heard of him before, but I just read that he was cast as Roger in Outlander. Watched this and I simply loved him instantly! Great casting!

2 months later, I'm still in love
I normally don't have problems understanding him,but on this one I did,perhaps he was hurrying to much.
He's too cute..oh, and he can actually act.
He's gorgeous.
I listened to Lewis Capaldi on SiriusXM yesterday and he talks just like Roger McKenzie. But Richard Rankin sings so much smoother. I would buy anything he sings.

I love this guy, for reals. I hope to see him in more quality shows-- he seems to know how to pick 'em... As an aside, I'm deeply sorry and ashamed to ask but what did he say was the hardest accent for him?

gijenny1000 Ahhhh! Totally makes sense now. :) Love his thick Glaswegian accent, I think it makes him more endearing but I have to train my ear to hear the words I'm sure I misunderstand.
