What a wealth of awesome knowledge, and survival skills you've got Shay If there was ever a disaster (hopefully only a natural one if there is) and there was no power, fuel or gas or electricity supply, and roads were knocked out, and the supply chains all buggered, I know one dude that'll survive with relative ease I love all your videos mate, don't stop putting them out, and this one is another ripper Congrats on easily lasting the 60 days, no doubt helped by the variation of ingredients, flavours, and cooking methods you use, and having cooked with camp ovens for decades, I swear by them as a go to utensil Haha you should have brewed up some bush beer using wild hops (plenty round my way) or Horehound, or manuka, Or wine with some of the fruits around to celebrate ...... but finding enough sugar substitute maybe difficult unless you rat a bee hive lol

You did SO well with this. Here's the thing: your joints and physical health bloomed during this challenge because you were off sugar and other carbs (mostly). If you just ate meat, fat and the occasional vegetable, you would find sustained physical and mental transformation that is off the charts. Carnivore for the win bro!

Mate I keep returning to your channel. I don't forage or hunt but I DO get enormous pleasure from learning from you. Love that you cover health and safety while sharing traditional foraging techniques and what you have learnt about foraging over your rich and varied life. Alt life, traditional methods of food harvesting, being in tune with your environment, contrast to modern food 'harvesting (ie, supermarkets/butchers/green-grocers). Gives me a feeling of there is still another way (a better way?) to feed yourself and yours. Thank you for sharing.

I have a TON of black nightshade in my backyard here in Oregon, USA. I make jam out of the berries every year and also use them in salsa as a tomato substitute. It's absolutely delicious! When you cook the berries with sugar, they taste like a cross between blackberries and blueberries and they're chock full of antioxidants.
