The inner coil was formed with a 4" tube the outer an 8". The inner was not slacked and the outer was 1/2 the turns but slacked...I measured my brew pot ( at the level that 5.5 gallon market ) and used that to determine how many tall I can make it. So take your measurement and divide it by the OD of your copper tubing, that number should be your maximum inner coil turns ÷ that by 2 and you got your outer.

What's that?

I have a tip to help with this: fill the tube up with water, and freeze it in the freezer. The ice in the tube will keep it from pinching the tube when you bend it.
