    I love shop and pay orders! I've only had a few so far but I like being in a/c on these hot days. Although the store I went to had issues with some of the items not scanning so I had to use the suggest a different item and have the customer accept it. I even tried calling support but it was just a huge waste of time.

    You know if the customer doesn't answer about replacements, you can simply "confirm replacement" at the end instead of refunding the item. This way if it's a percentage tip you'll keep it, and it's honestly more likely to make the customer happier than if you just remove items.

  • @DashWithAshinCanada

    Very nice video and informative, thanks. What I wanted to know, because I struggle to read a manual. When the customer asks for an example of 5 bananas and for it to be, for example, 1.30 kg. When the app asks you to input how many bananas and the kg, I would of course put the number of bananas, but should I guess the kg's or put 1.30 kg, even if it's less or more? Would not the right kilograms be weighed at the cash register anyways, and the customer would be charged the right amount, even if you input the wrong kilograms in the app? Just curious because i don't want to spend all my time trying to figure out what the correct weight is, if the customer clearly asks for 5 banana's or a number of other produce items by numbers.

  • @DashWithAshinCanada

    Great question Anthony. I have learnt that if a client truly cared about the weight in size they would need to get their own stuff lol I go based on quantity and keeping the quality of the product as fresh or neat as possible. So for the weight I simply put in the app amount. it's not the client requesting the weight 90% of the time, it's the app. If a client messages me and says they want a specific weight, that's different.

  • @NoBrainerLanguages

    I use a local service where we don't quite have that option to confirm exchanges, so we just get instantly refunded. This, of course, if we are not required to add an exchange option should the main order. Sadly the stores I usually buy from don't really have an alternative, so they have refunds by default. I must have said it before and asked for possible reasons, but eggs are something I just gave up all hope ordering lol. For some reason, I just never get to be delivered eggs, just straight up refunds. I know the obvious reason is breaking them all is quite the risk, but wrapping the pack would mitigate the danger I assume. I care way more about the whole order being delivered than the time it will take, but sure that might not be the norm for most customers.

  • @DashWithAshinCanada

    @DashWithAshinCanada

    Haha I'm very much not surprised people refund the eggs but I'd take them on lol. I get eggs all the time in my grocery order so I know how to handle them. Funny when you think of it haha.

    Tried my first Shop&Pay order today. Went horribly, and after two calls to Uber support, ultimately got cancelled. All because the order was for 10 pink lady apples, which don't have bar codes, and 10 of them did not weigh what the app was expecting, so I was unable to confirm I had them. Managed to get to a page where I was asked to key in the number of apples I had and the weight. App was expecting 1.69kg, but I had 2.1kg, and the app would not accept it. Second Uber support agent ultimately ended up cancelling the order (after call ended up getting dropped on the first one). Still got paid, but still obnoxious that I couldn't do my job and complete this order.... So, how do I actually deal with produce that has no bar codes and does not weigh what the app is calling for? Do I literally need to play a game of switcheroo until I find a combination of 10 apples that weighs a total of 1.69kg? Take fewer apples to get the correct weight?

  • @DashWithAshinCanada

    @DashWithAshinCanada

    11 ай бұрын

    I'm sorry you went through that. No I don't play the game. I just pick the amount asked for (10 apples in this case) and type in the same weight they ask for. We don't get paid enough to be that exact and Uber doesn't actually care for that. I always just type the weight I see if I have the number of items requested.

    What's the overall verdict for Shop&Pay orders.. good or bad for us to accept. I usually look at the miles to calculate whether its good or not but with shop&pay you have to go shop which takes time.. so what's the best way to determine if it's worth accepting? Thoughts?

  • @DashWithAshinCanada

    @DashWithAshinCanada

    It all depends on the units or the distances. For items I would like roughly $1 per item, i'll take less but that's what I eye ball and I go for short distances. If it's 2-3 items however and it's for let's say 15 kms, I won't take anything less than $25 due to the drive back.

    I dislike shop and pay. Why? If the item(s) is not available and the customer do not want a sub, then you have to refund. When you do a refund, your pay will be lesser than the original pay. You have to get to know which store chains are notoriously running out of items and avoid doing shop and pay there. Also, the dreaded long check out lines. Even the self check out lines are long. At that point, just "cancel" the order and move on.

  • @DashWithAshinCanada

    @DashWithAshinCanada

    Sounds like your struggles have been similar to mine lol I highly dislike shop and pay orders for all those reasons you said. Especially the refund part because so many of these orders are percentage based tips.
