In high school, my registration class were seen as really weird because we were all very tactile with each other. The boys and girls would always hug each other before the start of class and overall we were just really close, it wasn't sexual or anything (I mean sometimes people would date but not always). I think it made everyone happier and closer overall though. It was just weird because we were the only class that did it out of the entire HS

As a Brazilian, I really had a hard time when I first got into US, especially because of this culture shock. Especially in that cruel winter in 2013-2014, I spent almost 20 days or so without touching anyone for the first time in my life. Then I recognized the important this kind of affection is important in my life. We just hug every friend we see on the street (male or female), and usually even kiss female friends on their cheeks. The least personal thing we do (when we are first time meeting this person or when we don't like him/her) is touching hands, something people don't do here in Minnesota even with their friends. Aside from the food and familiarity, when I go home, I love to touch and be touched again.

I love all the senses but I know from personal experience that touch and sound are the two biggest influences on my wellbeing both physically and emotionally/mentally.

I have sensory sensitivity issues linked with trust issues. I haven’t seen the only person I let touch me in 5 months and I want a hug.

Did you know that we actually have 7 senses? there is the usual 5 that we leaned in elementary school; your sixth sense is known as your kinesthetic sense, which allows you to know where any part of your body is at any given point in time. and you seventh sense is your spiritual sense, which, for an example( whether your religious or not) is your ability to know when someone who you have any feelings about is around or doing something.

Having a moment of self awareness with noticing that I'm uncomfortable about the idea of wanting physical touch - Like that's a bad thing and I should be embarrassed about it. Hearing people talk about it like it's a normal thing makes me recognize that I feel differently and makes me question the logic of that feeling. Of course there's nothing wrong with it. I've got very little idea why I feel that way. It's something to look into :P
