6 Month Filter Change iSpring Under Sink Reverse Osmosis Filter RCC7AK | The Fixit Shed

The iSpring RO Filter has been working well for 6 months and it is now time for the 6 month filter change. At 6 months, I need to change the 3 vertical filters and the alkaline filter. You can buy a 1, 2 or 3 year supply of filters. I chose to get the 3 year pack, and I'll show you which ones to use for this 6 month filter change.

Glad ours is installed on wall in basement for ease of access. Then a faucet is handy near family room downstairs, one upstairs at the sink and also goes to fridge and ice maker, too. RO ice cubes are so clear, a visual way to actually see purer water.

Yes, getting it in and out of the cabinet can be cumbersome.

Thanks for the video. To lubricant the o-rings I used Danco 80360. I'm not sure if it's vegetable based but I know it's safe for water facets etc

Thanks for commenting! I have been using Danco 88693 Silicone Grease. The 80360 is labled as "waterproof grease". the both say to use them in the exact same applications. probably the same stuff.

I had installed my system using your previous video, and it worked out great. Was looking forward to this one, since my filter change is due in 2 months... so thank you! Clear instructions, and good angles and lighting again! I noticed there seemed to a lil leak at your cold water intake T connector, when you turned the intake off during flushing... or was I just imagining, lol?

You are welcome, and interesting. I did not notice it. You can see that to reach the valve, I had to turn my head away, so I didn't see it, and didn't catch it when I was editing. I'll have to check that out. Thanks!

Thanks so much for this tutorial!!! This is super helpful. Do you flush the filters for a specific amount of time, or just until the water looks clear?

I just flush the 3 big filters until it runs clear. You want to flush out the carbon before it gets to the RO filer.

Our vertical filters are hard to unscrew - what do you recommend ?

To get them off, the best bet is the filter wrench that came with it, or possibly a large strap wrench. Once they are off, be sure to lubricate with a food grade silicone lube. That should help them come off next time.

What do you think of this one vs the ao brand from lows

I like the iSpring better. The ao smith filters are way more expensive.
